Automatically updating assembly version
Hello, I was wondering if it could be made possible that the client updates the assembly version upon check-in. We're now using the star so VS generates a new version number itself, but that sometimes has some downsides. The best situation would be that the assembly version number is raised as soon ...

Re: Client on remote desktop environment
And when I set the client to store the baseline files in the working folders instead of in the cache folders?

Client on remote desktop environment
Hello, I have some problems setting up Vault on a shared environment. We have a server (windows 2008) on which a colleague of mine and I both login. There's a Visual Studio installation on there, all sourcecode files are located in the same directory on D: So basically, we're working on the same sou...

Re: Whoops... undo all :(
Well, the client didn't list the back-up files for some reason, BUT....! They were there on disk. So it took some manual replacing of sources, but I think I'm getting there. GREAT option guys, you just saved me bigtime! Thanks!

Re: Whoops... undo all :(
Hi Beth,
Back-up is enabled (working folder, 5 copies), but the client doesn't list any files. I did upgrade from Fortress to Vault Pro in between, could that be the cause of the missing file? I think the guy is called Murphy...?

Whoops... undo all :(
Hello there, Today I was working on checkin in code. There were some files marked as modified but with unchanged filesize. I started comparing them to the repository version, and performed an 'undo' action for all files which hadn't actually been modified. But I wasn't paying attention enough and en...

Error in Eclipse plugin?
I get the following error when I try to add a work item to a check-in: "An error occurred while running command: the Vault server could not be contacted to perform the operation. Your network connection to the server may have been interrupted. Please verify your network settings using the Optio...

Merge branches / history
Hello, I've got a question about merging branches. When you use the wizzard, the page which lists the changes always lists all changes made. Why doesn't it list only the changes made since the last time the branches have been merged? I wouldn't know why you would merge older changes again which have...

Re: Running multiple instances on a box
Linda, you should be able to track the conversation down on number 215067. Could you please review that e-mail conversation I had with Dixie? Thanks.

Re: Running multiple instances on a box
I was told you can use your licences on as many Fortress servers as you want Yes, but ONLY FOR THE SAME USERS. Fortress is licensed by named user. If you have 10 Fortress users, each user needs a license. You can use those licenses in a different Fortress server for those same users to connect to. ...

Re: Running multiple instances on a box
We don't support multiple instances of Fortress on the same machine. What problem are you trying to solve? Perhaps we can give you some suggestions. Hi Linda, We have two programming departments, one for Progress one for Microsoft. I was told you can use your licences on as many Fortress servers as...

Running multiple instances on a box
Hi, I would like to install a second Fortress instance on a box which already has one instance in place. Is this supported / possible? I assume the installer won't help since it will detect the installed instance and offer to repair / remove it? So what about copying the IIS directories; editing the...

Re: Labelling entire solution
1) Would that imply that there are multiple copies of the same project on my local disk?
2) That's not an option, I trust myself but I don't trust others to do this labelling properly. If Fotress could do the same by a Label Solution and a Get Solution by Label option, that would be great.

Labelling entire solution
Hi, I have another feature request I would like to add. At the moment, it's possible to label a folder in sourcecontrol. We use those labels to track different versions of our software. A minor problem with this is that these labels only let us retrieve the sourcecode for that folder and everything ...
