Unshelve timestamps

Post by Thomas Linder Puls » Mon Nov 16, 2009 3:50 am

Hi, SourceGear.

We use a build system that compiles files based on their timestamps. Therefore we use Set time = "Current".

When unshelving we do however receive "old" files, so nothing is compiled. I would be nice if unshelve either used the same option as "Get Latest" or if there was a similar option for unshelve.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've logged feature request 15086 for this functionality.

Is there anywhere I can see the status of "feature request 15086"?

It's still open and under consideration for a future release, but probably won't make it into Vault 6.0.

"probably won't make it into Vault 6.0."

That's really unfortunate, as it makes it really difficult to work with shelved files, especially since I keep forgetting about this. If you don't do a full rebuild after an unshelve, then you have to manually go to each file you unshelve and save it again to update the timestamp. Otherwise, the build will not work properly, or perhaps it won't even do anything at all.

I've bumped it up in priority, although it is not scheduled for Vault 6.0.

We've reviewed this and bumped it up in priority. Depending on the complexity of changing the timestamps, we may be able to add this to the list of things we're adding to Vault 6.1, due out later this year.

For the sake of completeness, the ability to set timestamps during unshelve were implemented in Vault 6.1
