No server was found

Post by Tom.Wells » Wed May 28, 2014 11:01 am

I have a user who used to be able to connect to our vault server but now cannot using the windows client. We are on 7.1.0. He can bring up the vault service in a browser (http://ntsourcegear/VaultService/VaultService.asmx). I can connect without any problem. He is running the same version of the client. He has tried a lot of times with the wrong password. Here is the message he is getting:

Unable to connect to http://ntsourcegear/vaultService. No server was found at the specified URL. Please verify your network setting using the Options dialog under the Tools menu in the Vault GUI Client. Web Exception: Unable to connect to remote server

What operating system is the user on?

Have the user open the Vault GUI client, but click Cancel on the connection dialog. Then go to Tools - Options. Have the user go to Network Settings and see what the proxy settings are. Is there a proxy in the network?

That was it. We both had "Use the default proxy" selected but his said Disconnected and mine says None specified. When I changed his to Do no use a proxy, it worked.

Thanks Beth
