Server Upgrade

Post by BLEdson » Mon Nov 14, 2016 10:53 am

We are currently running standard version 4.1.1.18060 with MSSQL 2005 on a W2k3 server. Our company is in the process of decommissioning all 2003 servers and 2005 SQL instances. What are the latest recommended requirements for our existing version? Can we migrate to a newer SQL instance and server OS without having to upgrade our Vault version?

Our Compatibility Chart should help you see what is supported with each version.

Vault 4.1 is not supported on newer operating systems.

You may want to read our Upgrading Guide to see what is involved with upgrading.

@Beth - Would we require different licensing to install on a dev environment in order to test the upgrade process outside of our production environment?

You don't have to have the Vault 9 license if only admin user is testing, but if you want other users to login to it then you need a Vault 9 license key entered.
