Unable to Check-in

Post by dstuckey » Thu Apr 27, 2006 12:20 pm

I am a new user of SourceGear Vault using Version 2.0.6 and am fairly unfamiliar with it. I was not present for any setup of the software. I have looked through the forum in hopes of finding my answer, but I didn't understand much of what I read and had no luck.

My problem is with check-in. I receive the message:
"Upload failed. Please verify your network settings using the Options dialog under the Tools menu in the Vault GUI Client. Consult the Messages pane for the specific error."

Network Settings are set to:
" Use the system default proxy: No system proxy specified."

The message pane reads shows three failed attempts and then reads:

"Upload for item $/FileName.mxd failed too many times, aborting transaction. Please verify your network settings using the Options dialog under the Tools menu in the Vault GUI Client. The specific error was "The server had an error processing the file upload but did not return an error header."
[4/26/2006 8:18:43 AM] Transaction failed

When attempting to open the Vault Admin Tool I received this message:
"Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
Process id=0xeb8 (3768), Thread id=0xe1c (3612).
Click OK to termination the application.
Click CANCEL to debug the application."

I clicked CANCEL and received this message:
"Registered JIT debugger is not available. An attempt to launch a JIT debugger with the following command resulted in an error code of 0x2 (2). Please check computer settings.
cordbg.exe! 0xeb8
Click on Retry to have the process wait while attaching a debugger manually.
Click on Cancel to abort the JIT debug request."

I have no idea what to do at this point. Please help. :?:

Let's tackle the upload issue first.

In the Vault GUI Client under Tools->Options->Network Settings, is chunked encoding enabled? If so, disable it. If it is disabled, try enabling it. Details here:

Chunk encoding was not checked/enabled, but enabling it did not made a difference. I received the same errors.
I did not try to bypass the proxy as mentioned in the post you referenced. Is this something I should try?

This user sent us a vault log file, which indicated the Vault Server's working directory was full. They cleared some space, and now Vault is working properly again.
