I can set up my editor (SlickEdit, but most editors have a similar facility), to work with source control, either via command line, or through some sort of provider that exposes a known api. SourceSafe does this; apparently, Vault does, too. I'd like to have the similar capability in SourceOffSite.

SOS 4.0 SCC provider?

Hello,

Does the SourceOffSite client have an SCC provider, like Vauilt does? I'd like to use SOS from within my editor, but not have to build the cumbersome command line for each operation.

TIA.

Batch checkout/checkin?

Hello,
I'd like to write a batch file that, when executed in a project directory, detects which files have been changed, checks them out ("-merge later"), then checks them in.
Is this possible?
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Working on the server computer, when I point the browser to: http://ComputerName/vaultservice/vaultservice.asmx I get a page titled VaultService, "The following operations are supported..." That looks normal. When I try to connect to the static IP of my router: http:/...

Thanks, Dan, I was looking at the Add dialog. Unfortunately, w/o filters, it's not much use. I'm not sure I understand this: what we recommend is to create a folder on disk of files exactly as you want them in Vault, and then add that folder to Vault. If I have Work\Proj1\Dev\ ----------Debug\ -----...

Adding non-VSS files to Vault

Hello, I have several large projects that are not in SourceSafe. I'm trying to find an efficient way to put all my files (and the dir tree they live in) in to Vault. Currently, I'm trying to use a batch file that writes a list of files to a file, then calls vault.exe" BATCH -user Admin -passwor...

Command line example?

Hello,
I'd like to create a batch file to traverse a directory and add all the .cpp and .h files to Vault.
Could someone give me an example of the vault command line, specifically what the repositoryfolder and localpath params would look like?

TIA.

Thanks, I have already set that registry entry (DontUseChunked...) to true.
I looked in the server log and found "Failed to load Msxml2.dll". I copied that from another computer, and Vault seems to be working.

Thanks, Shaw -- it was port 80 that I needed to forward on the router.
Is that a standard HTTP thing, or is that Vault-specific?

Firewall / router problems

Hello, My Vault 2.0 server is on a Win2000 computer behind my LinkSys router; the router give the computer its IP address. I have a Vault client on another computer, also behind the router. It can connect to the Vault server by name. I have another computer with a Vault client, not behind the router...

Thanks for the reply. The configpath element is "c:\VaultBuild\740\Service\vault.config" That dir does not exist; shouldn't the installer have created it? There is a vault.config in C:\INetPub\wwwroot\VaultService\. I changed the entry in web.config to point to it. However, there is no log...
