Thanks- I understand. I need to weed out the duplication on the front end- rather than the back end of the process.

Tedious, but not nearly as bad as what I thought I was facing.

Merge Behavior Clarification

I have been working in a branch for a few months. I've periodically brought the branch up-to-date with the main code stream (by merging the changes made to the main, into the branch). This is to avoid getting too far out of synch with the main. Now I am merging the branch back into the main. The pro...

For anyone interested-
This issue turned out to be related to the renaming of a branch.
Changing the name back to its original name resolved the problem.
Also, it sounds like a fix is in the works...

Hate to say it- but I don't use CRC- someone earlier in thread suspected problem actually went away when using CRCs: asills Posted: Tue Mar 01, 2005 9:42 am This seemed to happen to myself and my team maybe once out of 20 checkins... When I switched to using CRCs to determine file modification inste...

OK- I'll give it a shot from another machine-
I already tried uninstalling the client & removing the cached stuff in Doc&Settings- then reinstalled- still got same crash.

Exception during merge

I have been working in a branch of our codestream for several months. During this time, changes have proceeded in our main code stream. I am now ready to introduce my changes back to the main code stream. Before doing so, I have merged the changes from the main code stream into my branch- in order t...

I have also had this problem. I have tried to reproduce, but cannot. I am not positive, but i think it occured with files that I was editing- tried to save- they were read only- so while RO warning was up I checked out- then completed save. I know the files were changed on disk- projects were rebuil...

Understood- thanks for the help. I suppose I'll just ignore it- ignorance is bliss.

Odd that it happens so repeatably- always at about 3 minutes (I've repeated at least 10 times during trouble shooting).

I deleted the caches and the branch is still there- it appears to be valid, but I'm a little shaky about using it without an explaination of the failure...

We have not seen other SSL failures, the name of the cert matches the server's host name, and the cert is one of our own.

There is no proxy involved, but there is a firewall. Although the access is unrestricted.

I think we only allow secure access to the Vault.

Exception encountered during transaction

I am using v3.0.1 of the GUI client. I am attempting to create a branch of a directory with a large number of subfolders and files (our entire codebase). The client reports failure (although the branch appears to be created). The server log reports no failures. The following messages are generated i...
