When I started I had zero items in my pending change set. The first merge took ~8 minutes to complete at 0. The rest took about the same amount and my pending change set count went up to 10.
My Vault version is 3.1.0 (3494) on both the client and server.

Merge - Adding items to your pending change set forever
So I've been doing a few merges lately and they've been relatively unbearable. I go through the wizard and everything happens quickly (get, compare, merge) then when it gets to the final step "Adding items to your pending change set" it takes a ridiculous amount of time to complete. The UI...

Well here's the trace file. spgetlockedfilechanges takes about 14 seconds to run, and it happens on getting the repository, checkout and undo checkout. Also note that sqlserver.exe goes to to 25% CPU usage (the max it pretty much ever has with the 4 procs taskmgr reports me as having) for the entir...

The 15+ seconds is when folder security is disabled? That is surprising. I'll await for your first profile run. Not only is folder security disabled on that repository, but I removed my account from all groups (so there should be no security applied to my account whether it's checked or not).

One other thought - Has the user account been denied any part of the tree? Can the denial rights be removed or at least set to read-only? If you do remove denied rights, does that help performance of checkouts? I have folder security disabled right now. I disabled it the moment we saw performance p...

not locking, just degrading rapidly
So here I am a while later and the Vault server's performance has degraded significantly. It was great for a few days then today it has taken upwards of 5 minutes to complete a checkout and two or three times that long to complete a checkin. I ran the suggested sql commands again and I'm down to 40 ...

I don't think we could have done hundreds of thousands or millions of checkouts. We're in a pretty active development cycle and have probably 80 projects with an average of 25 files per project, plus a few branches plus about 75 installshield merge modules (which end up being like 110 files in the s...

If you try the operations, are you still blocked now? NO! I can checkout/checkin/undo perfectly now. Thank you! Now, can you by chance tell me any more info and/or what we just actually did so I can communicate to the team what they need to do if anything (such as we just deleted their checkout lis...
