Re: Find what Fortress Item a file was checked in under

If there isn't a way in Fortress or Eclipse to find this, is there a view or a stored proc. that I can call to get this info?

Re: Find what Fortress Item a file was checked in under

Right, but sometimes people don't use the browse button to add the issue number, they just type it in, and in those cases Fortress doesn't put the issue number in the comments. Is there no other way to find what item a file was checked in under? The item number has to be listed in the comments or yo...

Re: Find what Fortress Item a file was checked in under

Some people enter it manually, and some use the Browse button to select it (which puts the item number in the comments).

All users have rights to everything.

We are using Fortress Version 2.0.3.18802

Find what Fortress Item a file was checked in under

How can you find what Fortress Item a file was checked in under? When I view history on a file, if the Item number isn't listed in the comments, there doesn't seem to be any way find the Item number. It doesn't show up in the file's details in Eclipse or the Fortress Client. When I search for the fi...

Re: Fortress grinds to a halt

According to update manager the last server updates were applied 3 weeks ago, on June 23rd. We may have just found something. There is a service on that server called ".NET Runtime Optimization Service" that was not running. We started that service, and all of the lag time went away. I'm n...

Re: Fortress grinds to a halt

I'm not sure if this means anything or not, but I was looking through our IIS log files and noticed that every item being requested takes 15-16 seconds to get. Here's a snip from the log file, notice the timestamps: 2010-07-12 20:33:01 W3SVC1 160.129.40.243 GET /Fortress/Style/Fortress.css - 2010-07...

Re: Fortress grinds to a halt

I logged in to the server and opened the Fortress client with localhost as the server name and it still takes a several minutes to load. Also, when trying to pull up the web client via localhost directly on the server (http://localhost/VaultService/admin), it takes several minutes for the login page...

Fortress grinds to a halt

For some reason, this morning when we all came in to work Fortress was virtually unresponsive. I'm not sure what's going on, but it's happening in the web client, the desktop client, and in Eclipse. The web client works, it's just incredibly slow. When the site comes up and you log in, it takes seve...

Can't Merge file from inside Eclipse

Whenever we encounter a file in Eclipse that needs merging, we're not able to do the actual merge from inside Eclipse. We're able to "show merge" and can even copy the changes over from one file to the next, but when we try to save the changes nothing happens. The file doesn't save, even w...

Re: Fortress Client and Eclipse dont' synch up.

That did it! Checking the "Detect modified files using CRCs" box in the Fortress GUI options seemed to fix it. I couldn't find the option in Eclipse, but in this case Eclipse was already showing the files correctly and Fortress was showing all of the files as needing to be committed. When ...

Problem with show differences after a merge.

After merging two branches together, when I do a compare in the Fortress Client it still shows all of the files I just merged as being different. I click on one branch and select "show differences", then in the popup I check "any repository folder/file" and select the branch I ju...

Re: Fortress Client and Eclipse dont' synch up.

Are there any other suggestions for this? This is really starting to cause us some major problems. We actually had to set the Fortress Client up on a separate computer and now have to log in to it to do merges because our local Fortress clients are so out of synch with everything that they can't be ...

Re: Fortress Client and Eclipse dont' synch up.

Thanks Beth! I tried that but unfortunately it didn't fix anything. Here's what I tried: I manually set both Eclipse and Fortress to use the same Client Cache Folder, then set them both to use "In Working Folder" for the state/baseline file storage. I removed the working folder association...

Re: Fortress Client and Eclipse dont' synch up.

This is happening on every developer machine in our office, 6 of them total, each with multiple OS and Eclipse configurations. Here's my personal setup: Windows 7 64-bit Eclipse 64-bit SDK Version: 3.5.2, Build id: M20100211-1343 Fortress Version 2.0.3.18802 Fortress plugin (version 2.0.3.18802) was...

Fortress Client and Eclipse dont' synch up.

We keep having problems trying to get the Fortress Client and Eclipse to be on the same page. Basically, if you do a "Get Latest Version" in Eclipse, the Fortress Client then shows every file in your repository as needing to be committed. Likewise, if you do a "Get Latest Version"...
