Re: VaultPro 6 client install problem
No, I don't use Visual Studio. It's a pretty clean and generic XP VM. I've installed all optional software updates, including Silverlight, but no development tools.

VaultPro 6 client install problem
I have been using Vault 5 Std for a while and am about to upgrade to 6 and I thought I'd try out the Pro version to see if it would benefit my group. Instead of putting it on our server or finding a separate machine, I noticed I could install only the client and connect to SG's public server. So I c...

Downgrade free Pro to paid Std
I've been using the free, 1-user Vault Pro user for a few months and really like it. I haven't needed to use any of the professional features, so when I needed to add a second user, I bought 2 standard licenses. I backed up the database, then uninstalled the professional server. Now I'm trying to in...

Re: Vault fans: Post your testimonials here
Having been required to use Source Safe for many years, I am finally in charge of my own software development department. This means I choose what software will be implemented. After looking at several source control options (from free to very expensive), I've settled on Vault and am very happy. The...

Re: system tray enhancement
I don't really want to hide the DisplayFusion icon. And it only affects the DF icon because the Vault one gets removed. I have two other programs that minimize to the system tray and when they are restored, their system tray icon stays there. I think that if Vault did that, the problem would go away...

Re: system tray enhancement
It always minimizes just to the right of DisplayFusion which I use for multi-monitor support. I double-click on the Vault icon and DisplayFusion pops up. All I have to do is hit Escape to close it, but it's several times a day of course. I uploaded a screen shot showing DisplayFusion, Vault, and par...

Re: 2011 Vault roadmap?
I like the possibility of integration in SQL Server Management Studio.
Anyone use Delphi? I'd like to see it integrated there as well.

system tray enhancement
I use the Vault GUI client and keep it minimized to the system tray (notification area) most of the time. To restore it, I have to double-click it. That would be fine except that for some reason, the second click clicks the next icon next to it. In my case, it restores that application as well. I've...

Re: Error trying to import
Thank you for your email help. I found that the VSS client wasn't even installed correctly! Simply registering the SSAPI.DLL file got the whole process working and projects are being imported.
Thanks again!

Error trying to import
I just installed a trial of Vault Pro on a Windows server with SQL Server 2008 and need to import a VSS repository from a different server which is on the same domain. I've downloaded and installed the import tool (vr. 5.1.1) and read the overview (http://download.sourcegear.com/VaultPro/latest/help...

Re: import from multiple repositories?
Thank you very much for this information. There are 3 general groupings of projects, so I'll probably put each into a separate database and import the various years of a project into "branches" of a project so that the history can be kept together as much as possible.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

import from multiple repositories?
I'm going to be installing Vault in a situation where the are lots of small projects, each lasting anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months. The previous manager would start a new VSS repository at the beginning of every year, marking the previous year's repository as read-only. There are 6 years worth of ...
