Re: Binary files not checking in and reverting
You can download the pre-release Vault 5.0.2 client installer here. This has fixes for both issues you reported. It will run with your existing 5.0.1 server.

Re: Binary files not checking in and reverting
This is a client-only issue, and a 5.0.2 client will run file with a 5.0.1 server.

Re: CRITICAL: Overwrite other users' changes with VS client
The refresh Beth refers to is the source control refresh, which is unfortunately not performed by the Visual Studio refresh button above the solution explorer. It's accessible under File->Vault Source Control->Refresh Source Control Status. You can also turn on the toolbar (View->Toolbars->Vault VS ...

Re: Binary files not checking in and reverting
We've reproduced this issue. Note that when the file is (incorrectly) reverted, the previous file is backed up in the hidden _sgbak folder, so you can recover the changes there. The next version of Vault (5.0.2) and Fortress (1.0.2) will include a fix. If you'd like a pre-release build that includes...

Re: Visual Studio hang with the Enhanced Client
For anybody who stumbles on this issue, we did finally reproduce it. Visual Studio freezes when you have the Enhanced Client's toolbar visible and you overwrite a modified file via the prompt dialog during a get latest. The current workaround is to turn off the toolbar. Vault 5.0.2 and Fortress 2.0....

Re: User editing without getting latest
Hi Lane. I suspect that Vault is getting the latest version of the file, but Visual Studio isn't reloading it in an open editor. We fixed a bug specific to Visual Studio's DBML editor after 4.1.4 shipped that I think may also cause the intermittent behavior you're seeing in an MVC project. There is ...

Re: Vault extremly slow opening project in Visual Studio 2008
I think we found the cause of this. You can download a build with a fix here. This is a Vault 5.0.1 build that works only with a Vault 5 server.

#1 is deliberate. Note that CTRL-Enter from that field is equivalent to clicking OK.

Re: Pending Add fails for DataSet code file
A fix for this issue will ship in the next version of Vault (and Fortress).
In the mean time, it might be helpful to know that you can right-click on the parent file (SampleDataSet.xsd in the posted example), select Add to Fortress, and the new file will be added.

Re: VS2005 hangs while refreshing vault status
Does it still look like it's freezing during the refresh (based on the status bar, as you originally reported)? Is it still every few minutes, or is it rare?
Can you send me the log (ian at sourcegear dot com or attach it here) with the new refresh setting?

Re: VS2005 hangs while refreshing vault status
I see. I'm actually seeing incredibly frequent refreshes throughout the log, even during periods you didn't say were nonresponsive. To help me narrow the possibilities, would you try this? Turn the auto-refresh back on, but set the interval high, to something like 120 minutes (and restart VS). Does ...

Re: VS2005 hangs while refreshing vault status
Strange. What I see in the log is perpetual refreshes during the non-responsive periods you indicated. Each refresh takes roughly 1 second, but they're occurring one after another for periods that perfectly coincide with when you say VS was frozen. I'm not sure why this would ever happen, much less ...
