That makes sense. I wasn't sure where that default was set. I think setting that to "Prompt" will do exactly what I want.
Thanks for the help and the patience with my "newbie" question, Beth.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

Re: Auto-Merge Old Files
My question was about working within Visual Studio using the Fortress Visual Studio Enhanced Client. So you're saying if i try to check out a file when my local copy is different from the current version in the repository, the Fortress Visual Studio Enhanced Client will detect the difference and pro...

Re: Auto-Merge Old Files
Thanks for the quick reply, Beth. I think it would be a great enhancement if there were an option available that would prompt you if you are trying to check out a file when your local copy is out of date or renegade. That way, it would catch any recent changes that the developer missed and would let...

Auto-Merge Old Files
Hello, Please forgive me if this is a "newbie" question, but I figured asking the forums would be the quickest way to get an answer. If I have an old version of a file that someone else has modified and checked back in to the repository, will the Fortress VStudio Enhanced Client automatica...

Re: Hiding Files in from source control in web applications
You're right, doing that would prevent developers from being able to add the project from source control, and probably cause other headaches. I'm evaluating different methods to solve the concurrency problems with project files and thought for a minute that excluding them from source control might b...

Re: Hiding Files in from source control in web applications
Any updates on the "exclude from source control" enhancement request? It would be nice to be able to exclude the project files (.csproj, .csproj.user) when working on multi-developer projects.

Re: Update File Status
Hi,
Setting the CRC option didn't work for me, but I did find another trick that worked: I clicked File | Set Working Folder and chose the same folder it was currently set to. Once I clicked OK, it resolved all of the unknown status files!
Peace,

Re: Option to disable automatic check out?
OK, thanks for the info. Since we're using Fortress, it sounds like that the new Vault beta version won't help me. Any plans on adding that functionality into Fortress?

Re: Option to disable automatic check out?
Thanks Linda, that's great news. Two things: 1) I'm geting an error trying to browse to the link you posted: http://sgsupport.sourcegear.com/helpspot/admin.php?pg=request&reqid=215861 2) How does a Vault upgrade work with Fortress? I know Fortress uses Vault, but can I just apply a Vault upgrade...

Re: Option to disable automatic check out?
Hi Linda,
I'm just checking in to see if this option has been added to the enhanced client yet? We're interested in this feature as well.
Thanks

View Source Control Items by Status
Hello, Is there a way, either in the Fortress Client or in the web interface, to show all source control items in a particular folder (and its subfolders) that have a particular status? I'm trying to figure out an easy way to see any items that are currently checked out of one of my source control p...

Also, in answer to your question about the logs, nothing gets logged in the Fortress log (C:\WINDOWS\temp\SGFortress\fortress.log) even after a successful login. The following gets logged in the Vault log (C:\WINDOWS\temp\sgvault\sgvault.log: ----5/16/2008 3:30:53 PM admin--localhost(127.0.0.1)--SSL...
