"Same key already added" error when checking in

When I'm checking a project in after I've re-arranged the Visual Studio solution layout (changed folders, removed and re-added projects to the solution in their new location, etc), I receive the error: An item with the same key has already been added. This error seems to be caused by Fortress listin...

Re: Slow Loading - needs a progress bar

I experience this same problem when comparing folders on remote servers, over our LAN - the application eventually finishes, but while it's processing, it appears hung and unresponsive. A progress bar would be ideal for any compare task, or if not a progress bar, at least a "Processing" wi...

Re: Rolling back to a deleted version of a file

Ah - deleting the new version, and then undeleting the old one, was exactly what I needed - that restored the previous version of the files with history intact. The new version of the files wasn't intentional - I had deleted the files in one copy of my project, and then I think I just added them bac...

Rolling back to a deleted version of a file

I've run into a problem where I have difficulty accessing the previous version of a file. To recreate the situation, take these steps: 1. Version a file a few times (so that it has history) 2. Delete the file from Fortress 3. Add a new file to your project with the same name as the previous one 4. C...

Re: Rolling back source code

Is a rollback for folders feature coming in a future version, or is that not something SG plans to support?

Compare diffs on a folder can open incorrect window

When I use the integrated "Show Differences" in the Fortress tool to compare a working folder with another folder in the repository that isn't the repository folder for those files , DiffMerge can exhibit some unexpected behavior. While the resulting folder diff is correct and shows me whi...

Enhanced Client - "Work Offline" option

When I'm working on a project and the fortress server becomes unavailable (like I put my laptop to sleep and then go to a coffeeshop with it), Fortress still thinks it's in online mode, and won't let me make any project changes. I have to close Visual Studio, reopen it, load the project again, and t...

Change default server from Visual Studio

I'm a single developer with a Fortress server set up on my home network. I want to be able to access this server both when I'm home, and when I'm traveling. I currently have it set up so I can access it remotely, but here's my problem - the Visual Studio client thinks that my server is on the 192.16...

I feel dumb now

Wow - RTFM. I had tried to attach a 3.0.7 database to a Vault 3.1 server, and that's what choked it. Upgrading the database to 3.1 on my old server, and then detaching/attaching on the new server worked perfectly. MORAL: Read all the instructions, not just the first 3 lines before assuming "Thi...

More information

Here is some more information about my configuration: Windows Server 2000, SP4 SQL Server 2000, SP3 .NET Framework v1.1 SQL and IIS are on the same computer, and the server is pretty powerful, so I don't think that resources are factoring into this problem. I could edit the repository just fine on t...
