Re: Moving the Databases

Thanks, Linda, that's just what I was looking for. I came up blank on forum search and on google search, so once again I'm glad you're here. <s>

Moving the Databases

We are moving the sgMaster and sgVault db's to a different server, and am wondering if there is anything I need to do other than change the web.config settings.

TIA,

4.1.0 Client works with VFP IDE, 4.1.3 Client does not

Yeah, I know that VFP isn't supported and that you don't have a copy (although if you have MSDN Universal Subscription, and if you have any MVP's like Martin Woodward working there, you do have a copy of the Universal MDSN). That said, we've been using SOS and then Vault forever (well, SourceGear's ...

ServerOperations Delegates example (and specification)

We use comments on checkin as one way of communicating within our small team. I'm thinking that getting these operations and comments and feeding either to RSS or to a specific Twitter account would be a good way of getting the news out. The ServerOperations ChangeSetOutputEventHandler Delegate seem...

What worked to fix it...

a) after reading various posts here, ran the aspnet_iisregis -i per the MS KB. This got me past the IIS issue. b) reinstalled Vault from the "Click here for support information" dialog in Add/Remove programs. Doing it from the normal Change dialog using the Repair option did not fix it, but doing it...

So I got this far, but now dreaded error 1713...

needed component won't install. Steps taken: a) uninstalled Vault Server b) reinstalled 3.5.1 (figured I'd get that working before upgrading) c) got error noted above (over and over again) After killing stuff (including out out-of-control msiexec process run by System), I noticed that an app pool ha...

Reintstall after Uninstall ... doesn't

I had to uninstall Vault (and II6) and then reinstall recently. When I reinstalled Vault, it didn't do anything with II6, in terms of creating a pool, etc. So, nothing happens. I've twice tried calling the Support line, figuring this was one of those "well, is there a this, there?", but no joy, so h...

SQL Backup Hangs Server

I want to upgrade from 3.1.2.3511 to the current version, but whenever I attempt to run a backup, either from within SQL2000 Enterprise Manager, or from within Vault, it ends up hanging the server, with no error messages I can find. There are tons of diskspace. This is running on SQL2003 on a dual 2...

It was a partial solution...

The problem is now fixed: doing what I mentioned above (the Undo) let me get back into the Vault Client. From there I could set a new Working Folder. And that fixed the issue. Without that, I couldn't get to the folder that was the problem in the first place. It would be nice, of course, if it were ...

Undoing files from Admin fixed the problem

I tried deleting the temp files on the client; no joy. So then ran undo on all the files in the folder named in the error. Joy.

Enabling Multiple Checkouts for Selected File Types

Problem solved. The problem was getting one file type, *.pjm, to check out concurrently, while having the other files types we use check out exclusively. In VSS terms, having multiple checkout for one file type (which we had to accomplish by using srcsafe.ini commands to make a particular directory ...

Non-exclusive Checkouts for a File/Folder

Hi Linda,

could you make that ER a little broader? We have "exclusive" set, and need a particular file (or, in VSS style, a folder, with the folders below set to Exclusive) to be non-exclusive. We could do it by file extension, also, if that's an option.

thanks,

Hank Fay

How to let local modified copy overwrite copy in Vault

Hi Linda, the problem is when working renegade there are times when I do not want to merge at all; I want to have my local copy overwrite the one in Vault. In VSS, I would do a checkout/do not get local copy. In Vault, my choices are as you described. How would I accomplish my goal here, using the V...
