The SOS 4.0 client takes an extremely long time to get the latest version of files from a Source Safe server. Source Safe is much faster for this operation than SOS 4.0.

SOS 4.0 GUI

I took my work home tonight and was able to connect to the external server using the SourceOffsite IDE. But when I open my VS IDE it only complains that I am not authorized for this server instead of using the updated server I set in the SourceOffsite UI.

How do I change the server in the IDE?

When I use the Source Safe's keyword expansion like Author: $ it works fine with source safe. When I use SourceOffsite to check out and check in the files the keywords are no longer expanded.

I am using SourceOffsite 4.0 professional with 3 others in my office. Sometimes the server can cause the client programs to hang including the MS VS IDE 2003 and the SourceOffsite IDE.

There is no manual refresh from within MS VS IDE 2003 integration, to update the status of the source files.

While running the Visual Studio IDE, if I run the SourceOffSite IDE and change the password with it I can get into an endless message box situation saying illegal password.

After one message box it becomes annoying.

When I use Visual Source Safe I can have keywords expand when checking in and out files. I am using the same keywords and SourceOffsite with the same Visual Source Safe but the keywords are not being expanded. Is there a way to enable this?
