2 (similar) RFEs

When you're trying to build a large changeset, it would be nice to have some numeric feedback -- something telling you how many items in how many directories are currently in the changeset. And when you select some of the items in the changeset, it would be nice to have some numeric feedback. I woul...

WinMerge can diff .DOC files, so I would have guessed that Beyond Compare could also. But I've not looked.

Yes, I've run into this bug as well. I figured it was part of the bug that I'd already reported about how it is very difficult to do any large operation, because if you mistakenly add any piece again, or remove any file again, as you keep adding or removing files building your changeset, it will cau...

re: workaround [I think this conflicts with another outstand

re: workaround There used to be a bug in Vault -- that I've been assuming is still present -- that if you mark some files for delete, then you alt-tab away to find some more, then come back and mark them, and if you have already hit the delete before you alt-tabbed away, so that the ones already pic...

Yes, jclausius described the bug exactly

> It seems when Vault is losing / gaining focus the last highlighted item switches to the first highlighted item. Yes, that is exactly the bug. I use multiselect listview & listbox so much that I know the behavior by instinct, and have trouble thinking how to describe it. This is exactly the bug...

That dialog screenshot doesn't look like it makes any sense. GB-2312 is not a unicode encoding. #1) I recommend you try checking the ANSI radio checkbox (that is a very poorly named button, but it follows Microsoft's poor naming convention) and putting GB-2312 into that box. (ANSI doesn't mean ANSI,...

workaround fails!

Darn! I was wrong -- shift-mouse-click also loses the selection list :(

But, ctrl-shift-mouse-click and ctrl-mouse-click work correctly.

So you MUST avoid shift-mouse-click (it will throw away everything), and use ctrl-shift-mouse-click and ctrl-mouse-click.

workaround and a feature request (complaint)

Yeah, there is a workaround with the mouse -- tedious, but not as bad as I expected: You have to shift click each item, and you have to keep resisting the temptation to shift-down of course, as that will ruin all your work. Feature request (complaint): In the list of files deleted, I keep using keyb...

shift-down bug after alt-tab

Ok, I hope I can explain this one, it seems a bit tricky. I have a display of hundreds of files that I need to remove from a Vault directory. I don't know any intelligent way to do it, so I set out to it the monkey way (I mean, have the human -- me -- do the monkey work of peering at one screen and ...

sluggishness in SourceGear Vault GUI client

I've seen two problems in the GUI client. #1) It is very sluggish responding to right-click on files. (Perhaps it is running some slow code in the right-click handler, which is perhaps not a very good place for such.) #2) It is often sluggish to repaint when alt-tabbing to it. (Perhaps it is running...

I believe you can already do this

Edit your profile, and down at the bottom of the dialog should be a checkbox (at least its been there for me since before Vault 3.1.5 I think) saying "Automatically choose this repository", just below the edit box where you type in the name of repository you want.

Reinstalling Vault Client GUI 3.1.6 on top of the existing one, and choosing Yes for the Error 1705: do you want to undo previous work, succeeded.

Then I uninstalled Vault Client GUI 3.1.6.

Then I installed Vault Client GUI 3.1.8.

This workaround seems to have turned out fine.

"Yes" it is then; thanks for the quick suggestion. I'll post whether this turns out well or not.
