Re: Vault and Visual Studio 11 beta

OK another quick followup. As soon as I undid my changes for the "Needs Merge" file (i didnt need them for the file in question) doing a Get worked fine, so it's something with merging it seems.

Re: Vault and Visual Studio 11 beta

OK quick followup. Right after I posted this I decided I'd try to do a get latest project by project, thinking maybe it was one in particular. Indeed it is. If i do a get latest on one of the projects under the solution it hangs. All the other projects work fine. Of course I'm still not sure why. Th...

Vault and Visual Studio 11 beta

I have a quick question. I installed Visual Studio 11 yesterday and I noticed today that in Visual Studio 2010 if I do a get latest on the solution file Visual Studio seems to hang. I'm not 100% sure that it's Visual Studio 11, after all they are "supposed" to run side by side, but I was w...

Unable to view history when performing merge from a branch

I have a branch and I used to be able to do merge branches just fine, but somebody here made the mistake of branching the branch into a subfolder of the branch. I deleted the branch but I can no longer merge from the branch to the trunk. If i try it comes up with the wizard screen where it normally ...

Error when viewing file history

I have a file in a branch. I select view history on the file. Then if I do a diff for a change made on the branch, after the branch, everything works. If I try do a Diff for changes that are in the history list but were made before the branch, I receive the following error: Exception of type 'VaultC...

Server restarts

Our vault server keeps restarting and that is causing clients to get session timeout errors. I have tried some of the steps you outlined in other articles (like disabling iis recycling) but I cant seem to get them to stop occurring. There is nothing unusual in the logs either even with debug logging...

I have looked in the vault client and I think I understand the logic behind the menu. In the vault client, the check out context menu item appears when you right click on an item in source control, even when you are in edit/merge/commit mode, so I imagine it exists in the vs.net 2005 integration for...

It's not a window. It's a context menu. If you have the visual studio .net 2005 integration enabled, and you right click on a source code file, like Foo.cs, you'll see the context menu. That context menu contains Checkout and it is not grayed, even when we are using edit/merge/commit mode. Let me kn...

Checkout context menu in 4.0 when using edit/merge/commit

Why is a checkout context menu item visible when using edit/merge/commit in VS 2005? Its kind of distracting. I'll never use it and it takes up extra context menu space. Is this a bug or by design? If by design is there a way to turn it off?

On a side note, for araxis i was really just wondering if you had integrated the two before hand had the command line strings ready from a previous support incident or from anyone within your company that might use it or from anyone that might have asked the question before. If not, i'll eventually ...

I think i got it. We migrated from VS.NET 2003 to VS.NET 2005. We have files that were previously created in VS.NET 2003. We use tabs for indentation. In VS.NET 2005 they changed how tabs work, so a tab by default becomes 4 spaces (a good thing IMHO). Therefore, when we edited .cs files VS.NET 2005 ...

Integration with Araxis Merge 6.5

I like your diff tool that ships with the product, but in version 3.1.6 it has a small bug where it shifts the text of the compared lines to the left a little bit. I have a license for Araxis Merge so i was going to try to integrate that into the vault client, but I cant seem to get it to work. I sa...
