Vault doesn't read the Solution or Project files. All of that is handled by Visual Studio. Unfortunately, your question is better suited for Microsoft to answer.

However, Vault does create a MSSCCI.prj file where we make project specific bindings.

Try this please. Select the .dlls in the Solution Explorer and choose File->Source Control->Exclude from Source Control.

We've been trying for quite a while now to reproduce this without any success.

I know this is a lot to ask, but would it be possible for you to list a step by step account of what you do to get this to happen? It would also be VERY helpful, if you could list the Visual Studio project types as well.

Have you tried my suggestion from above? It would be useful to us to know if this also happens with VSS.

This is usually solved by applying the update from Microsoft. That update can be found here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

Ok, so it was working on this machine and then stopped.

There may be a problem with the client-side cache file. This is called databaseX.sos and is located at:

C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\SourceGear\SOS\servers\<servername>

Try deleting that file.

Did this work at one point and then stop?

That usually indicates that something on your network changed.

Can you please tell us the security permissions that this user has set for the file sgdm.exe and also for the containing folder please?

If I'm understanding you correctly, I think you need to bind the solution only to the root folder; not all of them at the same time.
