Sorry I can't give you an experience report.
We ended up suffering with TFS and not doing the transfer.
The project was finally canceled and put out of its misery.
Brad.

Can I vote for that to be fixed?

trimming repository
Our database is over 98 GB which makes it more time consuming to backup and restore. We'd like to put it on a weight loss program. We have a number of projects that check in binaries, EXEs, DLLs, etc. We don't really need the very old versions and it seems like it could be an easy way to recover a l...

1 database per repository
Our database is over 98 GB which makes it more time consuming to backup and restore. We feel like we are more at risk. If something happens to one repository you can't restore just that one. All the repositories would have to be rolled back and everyone loses recent changes, not just that team. Is t...

export list
How do I export a complete list of all files contained in Vault?
Boss wants a list of all the apps we have stored.
My plan is to export, then filter for project files.
Also, filter for unique extensions to make sure I don't miss
any project types. 8: -)
Thanks,
Brad.

Re: remote client
Um, I can't phrase it like that. 8: -) a) I'll get shot down for publicly exposing code over the internet. b) What prevents just anyone from accessing the code? c) They'll want to lock it down as tightly as possible, so I'll need to know exactly what I need to open up. The SOS docs were pretty clear...

remote client
I am about to set up our first remote client to talk to our server here. The intro says that vault should handle remote clients over the internet without any problems, but I can't find any discussion about the details. What do I need to do differently for the client installation? What do I need to o...

Sounds like that should work.
I'll let you know in a few weeks how it went.
Thanks,

Re: archiving
Vault does not have a way to archive off only certain versions of a folder. So it wouldn't be possible to archive off just the last 20 versions. To reduce the size of the database, you could delete unused labels, Looks like we'll have to go at this backwards. I don't have very many folders that I w...

moving vault
I'm moving my vault installation to a dedicated server. I have the new 4.1.4 installed. So I'll need to have everyone update their clients. (I was going to move first and then upgrade, but 4.0.4 couldn't handle the OS version) Is there anything else I need to do besides detaching the DB, moving it, ...

Re: archiving
What's your objective -- reduce the physical size of the sgvault database file? Yes. Remove folders/branches you no longer need? Move folders from view so they don't clutter up the folder tree? No. I'm thinking something like "anything more than 2 years old and more than X revisions back,"...
