Cool, thanks. I wish I had an upgrade path from XP without reinstalling apps. :(

Does the disabling of keep-alives have an adverse affect on Vault?

HTTP 403.9 Errors

Hopefully someone here has some insight into this problem and can help - so far our IT department cannot. At our company, we routinely work with multiple instances of Vault 2.0.6 running on the same box - usually multiple Visual Studio instances, but sometimes VaultGUIClient. On occasion we are unab...

So here is a question for you, Dan - In the MSSCCPRJ.SCC file which Vault uses to track VS links to servers and repositories, there is a value in SCC_Aux_Path. It appears to take the form of URL|ServerName:X, where X is an integer. For those things I have under source control using Vault, this X val...

this hasn't changed since 2.0 (I think)
You understood perfectly, as that answers the question!

What I was not clear on was the fact that it didn't change the behavior. <sigh> So I guess it's just a behavioral anomaly.

Yes, that looked pretty good to me also. I am using the 2.0.2 client. Think it's possible that it does what's being asked of it in a newer version?

Best Regards,

Andy

Multiple Repositories and VS 2003 IDE

I am working with a UI framework in one repository, and an application in another. The IDE always prompts me for a repository when I fire it up, which is fine. If I open a solution within the framework, and select its repository, the IDE (or Vault) appears to remember this as long as I keep that IDE...

Another brief question... Does it matter whether I create entries in mssccprj.scc for project files? It doesn't seem to. I am only putting solution files in here, but I have noted this difference from what Vault does when creating these files itself. My guess would be that in the absence of an entry...

Thanks! This clears a lot up for me. And it was not as long-winded as the original post was.

You sure respond quickly. In the old(ish) Compuserve days, I would have said "Dude - have you got a modem in your head, or what?"

Visual Studio - Unbind/Bind changes SolutionUniqueID

When I Unbind a solution, then later re-bind it again, somebody tries to change the SolutionUniqueID. I'm guess it is Vault, as I don't recall the behavior using VSS, but could be wrong! It goes something like this: I unbind, the the .??proj file goes "Renegade", with the lines having SccX...

Let me know about the results from hand editing the mssccprj.scc file, and we can figure out the next step from there. Seems that it works just fine. I missed something the first few times I tried it - probably the solution name. I think I only changed the location. Doh! It (Vault) doesn't t...

Nested Solutions in Visual Studio 2003

I posted on this topic in another forum a few weeks ago... We can continue here now! We have developed a semi-hack way of working with Visual Studio and VSS, mostly as a result of an extremely large/complex application and several developers working over VPN connections. Some are overseas. As you ca...

Is it possible that you only have to check out the solution files for the first user, and all the other users would work with an Open From Source Control? I'm not sure we have a good answer for you, given that you have so many solution files. I think it would work fine if they were project files......

Nested Solutions in Visual Studio .NET 2003

We are evaluating Vault as a successor to the barely supported VSS. Using Visual Studio .NET, we have developed a fairly complex project structure. It consists of a "top level" solution, containing only a build batch file and a few other things. For discussion purposes, let's say it reside...
