Re: Bug in C/C++/C# Source Comment Detection

At this time I can (also) confirm that the bug does NOT reproduce in 'SourceGear DiffMerge : Version 4.2.0 (697:52f98c4fcb) [x64] stable : WXMSW {3.0.0}', but it still appears for me in 'SourceGear DiffMerge : Version 8.0.1 (30299) : WXMSW {2.8.12}'. Alas we have not upgraded Vault to 9.0 in the yea...

Re: Check-in/folder history after a branch

To be clear, yes, the underlying capability is there, but the history display is cut off at the branch point, when using "View folder history by version". Unfortunately, suggesting "View folder history by item" as a workaround is a non-starter even though it works OK if...

Re: Check-in/folder history after a branch

+1 to Feature Request Please Vault 8.0.1.30299 Suggested Workaround: "You would have to check the origin history." Note that this requires that you know where the item was branched FROM and this is not displayed in "View folder history by version". However, if you select the bran...

Bug in C/C++/C# Source Comment Detection

Given the following two snippets as source for two versions of a C# file, DiffMerge will decide that the change (insertion of the keyword virtual) is "unimportant". --- Version 1 // public void Initialize() --- Version 2 // public virtual void Initialize() --- End of snippets When recreati...

Re: edit in both files?

"It's possible to quickly swap which side a file shows up on by returning to the Open File Diff and clicking the Swap button." Ah, but it does not respect/remember command line parameters so I CAN'T follow your advice when the diff was started by an SCM tool (Vault included). This would ha...

Re: Cannot show history without setting a date range

Well I had a HUGE amount of additional info, but your BB app threw it all away. There is 1.9GB of free space on the Vault server. I don't know about the SQL server as I will have to request info/access from IT. 1. I had a query succeed while 2 others were hung. So if this is a global space issue it ...

Version Check: This Vault Professional client is version 5.1.1.19216 Version Check: Your server is version 5.1.1.19216 We now have numerous folders in a repository upon which an unfiltered "Show History" command results in a 3+ minute lockup of the client followed by a notice that "A ...

Bug Report: Orphaned Checkout after branch of shared file

I just received a Vault support request from one of my users that he had a file in an odd state. The file was showing as being checked out in the repository viewer, but did not appear in his 'Pending Change Set', and "Undo Checkout" was not available/selectable in the right-click menu. His...

Re: Shelveset Usage Scenarios, Limitations and Bugs

Thanks for the feature requests/votes; and the manual merge tip (removing the /ro Diff options). I guess I'd expand the manual merge by opening a second client window to queue up any adds/deletes/moves/renames while viewing the shelveset in the first instance... A quick test shows that will work tho...

Re: Shelveset Usage Scenarios, Limitations and Bugs

OK, let me try to clarify a couple things:
It's not really meant to be a place that other parts of the Vault repository can interact with. For example, rather than having it behave "like" a branch, once should just make a branch. It is possible to delete branches on...

Shelveset Usage Scenarios, Limitations and Bugs

We have recently upgraded to Vault Pro 5.1.1 and have had a horrible time trying to adapt shelvesets to any meaningful usage. This is unfortunate as several of my users (effectively) requested shelveset support prior to our upgrade. I see three main usage scenarios for (or views/facets of) shelveset...

Re: read-only on wrong pane in history diff

Testing from Fortress 1.1.4 (18402), I sometimes get the working folder version on the left and sometimes on the right. It *seems* like the determination is based on the apparent version of the working folder copy as compared to the repository version. If the working copy has a status of "old&q...
