Re: Random wonky errors

Thanks. I'll talk to our IT folks and see if we can get that taken care of.

Re: VS 2010 randomly dropping Vault connection

Yes, sorry, I see that it's there now. I thought it would show up greyed out when I was already on line. I'm working with my IT department to free up some disk space, and we're going to do some server maintenance and upgrade Vault at 5pm today. I'll let you know what further issues we encounter next...

Re: VS 2010 randomly dropping Vault connection

The only symptoms are that when you try to save a file, you get a Visual Studio message (because the file is read-only). And of course the source control icons disappear from Solution Explorer.

VS 2010 randomly dropping Vault connection

There have been a few reports of users working in VS 2010 and suddenly dropping the binding to Vault. This seems to be happening since users have upgraded to 5.0.4. (We're running server version 5.0.1.18729.) But that might be coincidence, because we are also having some users receiving random serve...

Re: Random wonky errors

The errors have begun again, and this time an iisreset did not resolve them.

In addition to the attached, users randomly get an error indicating that there are more users than licenses. Then they are able to log in if they try again.

I am sending a copy of the log file via email.

Random wonky errors

Using Vault client 5.0.3.18802 and server 5.0.1.18729, yesterday we started receiving random error messages. For example, just this morning, trying to log into the client, I received an error that there are more active users than licenses (not true); after I dismissed that and tried to log in again,...

What's the current version?

In the last week or so I've been getting this message on starting Vault. [5/14/2010 1:19:35 PM] Version Check: The most recent Vault release is version 5.0.2.18753 Previously the Version Check was returning 5.0.3.xxxxx, and your web site indicates that 5.0.3 is the most recent version. What's the st...

Re: VS 2010 Beta 2

Can you tell me if bug 15021 has been resolved yet, and if not, when it will be? I just installed the 5.0.3 client (still running against 5.0.1 server), now with VS 2010 RC, and the issue still exists. It's extremely problematic not to be able to see files' source control status in Solution Explorer.

Undo checkout leaves local file with new timestamp

If I check out a file, edit it, save my changes, then undo checkout and revert changes, the timestamp remains at the time the file was edited. If I then get latest from Vault, it still retains the time it was edited. Is this by design? Shouldn't the file's timestamp revert to the last time it was ch...

Re: CRITICAL: Overwrite other users' changes with VS client

Thank you Eric. I have shared your message with my users. I also want to let you know that I have appreciated the alacrity with with SourceGear responded to these issues. Within 48 hours we had a build in place that resolves them. Thanks again for taking the time to respond, and for doing so with ho...

Re: CRITICAL: Overwrite other users' changes with VS client

I just want to add that, while I appreciate the quick response, I have a big issue I have to deal with among my users, who have lost confidence in Vault to serve as an effective source control application as a result as this and other defects we have encountered (recently and in the past). I hope I ...

Re: Binary files not checking in and reverting

Thanks. Will this require a server-side upgrade, or will the 5.0.2 client run okay with the 5.0.1 database and server app?

Re: CRITICAL: Overwrite other users' changes with VS client

We ran this test. After Dev 1 checked in the changes, Dev 2 clicked the Refresh button at the top of the Solution Explorer window, but the icon did not update. He refreshed multiple times, still no update. He right-clicked and chose ‘Check out’ and it did not get Dev 1's changes. So, same issue as b...
