Appears to be a Windows Server 2003 problem.
Hi. I've been getting ready to send you the files versions and I have some more information. 1) The problem seems specific to Windows Server 2003. When I diff the file versions on my Windows XP Professional machine, it works. I'm surprised I never noticed that before. I guess I never expected it. Do...

Size of files causing DiffMerge to fail.
Version 135 is 3444 lines, 114698 characters. Version 135 is 3152 lines, 100938 characters. Contents are C++ (.cpp). I tried it again and waited a couple of minutes. It did eventually show me something, but what I got was a correct left pane, and a garbage right pane with mostly little square symbol...

More than occasionally SourceGear DiffMerge hangs.
I've found on several occasions, when I run Diff (SourceGear DiffMerge), the window is blank, it is using a lot of CPU. It is hung and I have to kill it. It happens on certain pairs of file revisions, easy to reproduce.

Enhancement request: Separately dockable search window
One of handy use of the Search tab at the bottom of the Vault client is the ability to recursive search for renegades locked onto $ with background updates on. Unless I'm looking for something specific this is always how I leave it. Recently we had a build failure because a developer didn't realize ...

Best practice for upgrading projects from VSS to Vault?
What do you recommend for updating a large hierarchy of solutions after a SourceOffSite/Visual SourceSafe to Vault upgrade? Do you recommend one person Open from Source Control the first solution, save the solution and check in any changed settings, then Open from Source Control the second solution,...

What about the default profile?
Is there a way to set a Vault default profile that Visual Studio 2005 will use when you open it and select File -> Source Control -> Open from Source Control?

How do you set the Visual Studio 2005 default profile?
Is there no way to configure the plug-in for Visual Studio 2005 to use my default connection profile? I always get the attached dialog when I open Visual Studio for the first time and File -> Source Control -> Open from Source Control. The Vault client goes right to the repository for me. I've looke...

Visual Studio .sln, .vcproj, .vcproj.vspscc, .vssscc files
Hi. We've just upgraded our production VSS database to a Vault repository. In the process of rebinding working folders, I've run into some of the previously reported problems, like caching of the bindings. I found that by getting rid of old .MSSCCPRJ.SCC, .ncb, .suo files, and rebinding, I was mostl...

My clarification needs further clarification: 1) The problem only occurs if you attempt to close Vault client while it's trying to connect to a server that isn't responding. The client waits indefinitely for the server to respond after that. If the server eventually responds, a timeout dialog appear...

Clarification to problem report.
My initial report needs some clarification: 1) The hang only occurs if you attempt close Vault client while it's trying to connect to a server that isn't responding. The client never works after that and you have to kill it with task manager. 2) The Tools -> Abort Current Operation doesn't help in t...

Web browsers don't hang.
Web browsers don't hang when the connection to the server fails. I don't know what else I can say to convince you that this is a real problem and deserves the attention of a developer. My hope is that someone will take a look at my dump file, realize there is a programming error of some sort and fix...

Disabling server network interface causes client login hang.
We're in the process of upgrading from SOS/VSS to Vault. One of the main reasons for the upgrade is better connection reliability of the Vault client. One of the first tests I ran was to disable the network interface on the Vault server and then try to connect from the client. If I try to close the ...
