We just tried an IIS restart and gave checking in the files (the ones that have been failing) another go with no success. We still get the "Could not retrieve file from database" error. Prior to that I set the logging level to 'Debug'. Attached is the server log.

DBCC doesn't return any errors and none of the users are sharing folders. I found out yesterday though that we may be having problems on the computer that I'm backing Vault up to, so I need to try a new computer see if it works there instead. We were doing back up through the SQL GUI, not automated ...

Corrupt repository?

We are having a lot of problems with several users who are using a specific repository. Seemingly at random they will have several different errors, usually being unable to check in a file that they had checked out. The latest had the error message "Could not retrieve the file from the database...

Alright...for some reason the problem seems to have fixed itself. If it comes up again I'll make sure to get the log and send it off. Thanks.

Server at 100% CPU Usage

We've just upgraded to Vault 4.0.4 from 3.5.1 and everything appears to be working fine, save for that when I access the Admin Utilities through the web interface, when I try and click on a repository to pull up its information SQL's CPU usage shoots through the roof to 99% and the server that Vault...

Session expiration - Help please.

Sometime last week we started having problems with client and admin sessions timing out. Users will leave the clients sitting for a few minutes, try and do an operation and get this error: "Session is no longer valid. Either the server restarted, or your session timed out. You may need to login...

Ok, with the database at that size could it be affecting backup operations and obliterations? Both are currently failing.

Large Vault database

We've been in the process of moving our SourceSafe repository over to Vault for a while now, and lately the imports have been slowing down considerably. I'm assuming this is because the current project we're bringing over is rather heavy on labels. What I hadn't expected though was the current size ...

Visual Studio creating temporary file - becoming a nuisance

We're using Microsoft Visual Studio as and Vault in tandem, and I have to say that they are working out really well together, except for one little detail. VS has become obsessed with creating a temporary file, checking it into the repository and then deleting it putting the comment on it: Temporary...

Different projects, same working folder?

I have a user who wants to be able to set multiple projects to the same working folder. I was wondering if there would be a way for Vault to allow this. example: Project1 in Vault -> Set working folder to C:\Projects Project2 in Vault -> Set working folder to C:\Projects I understand if it can't be ...

Not to my knowledge, not we haven't. I did run DBCC CHECKDB and it didn't come up with any errors in the SQL Database.
Our .mdf file is 1.5 GB and our .ldf is 15.2 GB.
Where do I find thhe recovery mode?

One of our users is having this problem. We shut down all instances of the vault client, restarted and got it to work again, but do you know what causes it or a more permanent solution?

Vault is failing to import from SourceSafe

Hey, I'm trying to do some importing from SourceSafe. I've gone through the reccommended steps all the way through running the import utility, which reports success, but doesn't actually get files into the repository. I checked the log and this is what was in the log. -- Opening: D:\VSSData\srcsafe....
