We upgraded from 4.0.6.x to 4.1.0.x Didn't remember but we're using the Classic client. What I mean was my machine currently has the latest code that was checked into the repository...so a Get All (recursive) shouldn't do anything. Client Information Vault Client Version: 4.1.0.16216 .Net Framework ...

Repository structure completely hosed up...

Am I better off deleting the whole thing and starting over or just delete the existing structure and start over.

I have a copy of the production source on my machine and on a backup. Don't really need versions prior to that.

After 4.0.x.x -> 4.1.x.x, Get Latest shows merge errors

My machine has the latest production code and matches the latest labeled set in the repository. I upgraded the server and my client to v4.1.x.x. I opened the project. Then to see what would happen I did a Get Latest at the solution level. I receive 4 or 5 dialogs telling me that merges of project fi...

Need help understanding trunk, branches, versions, etc.

I have read all Eric's notes on using source control and the stickies on branches, but I'm still confused. I'll lay out what we have and someone can point me in the right direction. For simplicity I'll say that we are developing one application. We have three programmers. Any of the three may be wor...

I beg to differ...

We are using VS2005 with Vault 4.0.4 under the VS2003 integration client. Let's say the project is called CR. Using the Vault UI I created a branch called CR 2.16 when we put out that version. Now we have a third programmer working on some test code, so we don't want to polute CR 2.16. So I created ...

The Vault Pending Changes window is empty. Yet the project shows on the tree as being checked out. Interesting A followup...something weird is going on. As soon as I closed this window after writing my initial response, the file then showed up in the Pending Changes window. (Not sure why it took ove...

I was still using the 2003 client and just switched the sloution over to the 2005 client.

That's when I noticed that it was working slightly differently.

Undo Checkout - 2005 client behavior is different from prior

In VS2005 I double-click a class file. The code window opens. As soon change the file, it gets checked out automatically. (So far so good.) I change my mind and decide I don't want that change. With the 2003 client... I clicked Undo Checkout. The checkout gets un-done and the local file automaticall...

Update to 4.0.4 good, but not the licenses

Was told by Tech Support that we could updated to 4.X without cost. I performed the upgrade on our server without a technical hitch, but it's saying we need to update our three licenses. I tried to do that from you web page, but is says for each "This serial number has already been upgraded.&qu...

It is a WinForm only project.

The solution itself was not checked out, only some of the sub-items were checked out.

And they were a mix of types, classes, user controls, etc.
