When you try to open this solution from VS.NET, are you using File > Source Control > Open From Source Conrol?

Also, was this soultion originally added with VSS or SOS?

File labels will show up in a recusive history, but only if the "Include File Histories" box is checked. This box was (improperly) tagged "as Incude file checkins" in pre-4.0 releases, but it does the same thing.
