Re: Vault Enhanced client doesn't work with unprivileged login
I have a very similiar, if not the same, problem. In Visual Studio 2008, I can't select the Enhanced Client from the Source Control options, plug-in panel. When I click on it, the drop-down reverts back to what it was previously. Strangely this was not afflicting me until just recently on this compu...

My apologies ... it wasn't Vault, but one of the other users. Someone had bound their projects using IP address instead of the host name. Since the IP address change they'd not been able to the VS IDE and in disgust had reverted to using the regular client to upload their "infected" projec...

No Cancel for Vault Login (VS IDE client)
Why is there no Cancel button the Vault Login box? I have two choises: Ok and Work Offline. I want to cancel. I have two options: 1) work offline (the repository is available so i dont want to go through that AGAIN), or 2) Use Task Manager to Abort Visual Studio. Lame!! While I'm at it - it is lame ...

Suggestion: Option in Vault Client to clear local cache
I find this article so useful, but it freaks out some of my staff that they need to go to such steps to clear their cache files http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=6 Would it be possible in the future to add a menu item to the Vault Client so that the cache files could be cleared without d...

Where is the legend - VS2005 IDE solution explorer icons
Only just switched to the Visual Studio 2005 IDE integration (from the Vs2003 compat one). Wow - what a revelation!. The switch could have been a bit more seemless. I found an article in the knowledge base about how to do it, but it could have been a bit more "team friendly", if you know w...

Problems with check-in do not show in IDE - why is that?
Why is it that if there is some problem preventing a successful check-in, that I have to go to the Vault Client to see what it is? What I am referring to is check ins using the VS2005 (visual studio 2005) IDE integration. In those scenarios if there is some problem preventing the checkin, the IDE in...

By running the installer the 2nd time and choosing Repair it successfully upgraded the database.
I still think upgrades could be made much easier.

Alternatively, ... can database be upgraded manually?
I CAN get 4.1.6 installed fresh, but that leaves the none-too-small matter of upgrading the database.
Can that be done manually? i.e. is there an database upgrade script, or perhaps a command line switch for the installer?

My bad ...
it had nothing to do with the branches at all - it was the various deleted sub items in nested folders.
Good thing I eventually had a coffee to boost my IQ the 5 points I needed to work that one out!

Is it possible to obliterate just the sub-branch?
I have a project that derived from another project by way of being a branch. I'd now like to obliterate (not just delete) that 2nd project, but not the main project. From what I am reading that isn't possible, but I need it to be possible. There is code in that 2nd project that MUST be physically de...

Without a label, what are my options for getting by date?
Ok, so it turns out that one of my developers neglected to insert a label when we released one of our projects over 6 months ago and now we're faced with a massive regression test exercise because we can't just make one surgical fix. Is there any way (even a hacky kind of way) of inserting a label i...

What recouse is there if one "forgets" to label or
Is there any recourse if one forgets to branch or label at an appropriate place? While there is definately no better time than the right time, for branching code or planting a label into your source, it seems to me that there should be some sort of recourse for situations where oversight has occured...
