Re: Vault check-in very slow with VS2010

I must appologise, but I have resolved the slowness. While looking at the server (for other reasons), it turns out there was a process there leaking memory. Killed the process and everything came good. I guess it was just a case of bad timing that it had reached a critical point at the same time as ...

Re: Vault check-in very slow with VS2010

I am using the VS Enhanced Client. When using the Vault GUI, it seems like both browsing the repository, as well as checking in a file takes much longer. As an example, from the GUI Message log: [18/05/2010 9:40:49 PM] Preparing data to begin transaction [18/05/2010 9:40:49 PM] Beginning transaction...

Vault check-in very slow with VS2010

Hi, I have recently upgraded my machine to VS2010 and Vault 5.0.3 (Desktop running Win7, server running Win2k3 and SQL2005). Since then I am finding that checking in changes very slow (in the order or 5-10 minutes) for small changes (5KB changed, 3 files). VS seems to lock up initially, then the beg...

Thats what I thought, but I just wanted to check.

Repositories vs Folder Security

Hi, We are in the situation where it would seem that we are going to have to set up Vault with one repository per project (its a long story but I don't think I am going to be able to change that). Is there any perfromance penalties / gains from having many repositories vs one large repository with f...

Vault Client Lib to add groups

Hi, I am trying to write an app the simplify performing the following operations: - Add a repository - Add a global group - Add users to group - Add group to repository access As far as I can tell, manipulating groups does not appear to be supported using the client API. Is there some way of achivin...

Feature Request: Additional Repository Fucntions

Hi, I'm not sure if this type of functionality has already been requested / is on the roadmap, but it would be great if Vault allowed you to delegate the administration of repositories to users. That is, you could assign users to have admin privileges only in selected repositories (and not have acce...

Error when viewing file history using the web interface

Hi, We have recently migrated our sourcecode from several sourcesafe repositories into a single vault database using multiple repositories. As best I could tell, the import ran successfully. What we have just noticed though is that when using the web interface to view the history for a files, it is ...

Thankyou for the prompt response. The biggest problem our remote users face is the almost 500ms latency between them and us. Based on previous testing this takes quite a hit on the peformance of Vault (or anything else for the matter). Given we were only really interested in having a readonly copy i...

Automation of Import Export Tool

Hi, I was just wondering if there was any ability to automate the execution of the import/export tool. We are planning on deploying Vault across the department, but currently some of the development is done in remote offices. So we would like for the developers to be able to use a local vault reposi...
