Re: Ignore Case

You might try creating and/or editing your Ruleset for SQL files and set the following and save it. [1] on the "Line Handling" page, check "Ignore/Fold Case when Matching Lines". [2] on the "Content Handling" page, under "Default Context Guidelines", turn off ...

Re: Files without peers - query

The "files without peer" status in the folder window means that we only saw a file with that name in either the left or right folders, but not both. When looking at 2 snapshots of a project, it generally means that a file has been added, deleted, moved, or renamed between the 2 versions of...

Re: Crash with very large files

After I responded I noticed that you mentioned 3.3.2 in your original note. And from the addresses you gave, I'd say the 32-bit version. I doubt I'm going to be able to do much to help in the short term. Those are some big files. You might try turning the detail level down to lines-only (See the Opt...

Re: Crash with very large files

I suspect that you're running out of memory.

What version of DiffMerge do you have? (See the About Box.)

Re: Why is it so slow when editing files?

Understood. But again, I don't have a way to turn this off right now. It is on my list, but my queue is pretty long right now. I'm not trying to disregard/dismiss this -- it irks me too when I'm doing a merge -- rather I'm just saying that I won't be able to address this for quite a while. As I ment...

Re: Why is it so slow when editing files?

Sorry, but we don't have an option to turn that off.
It always does a live-diff as you type. And yes, it can
get draggy. I hope to be able to add that capability,
but I don't have a way to do it today.

Sorry,

Re: REQUEST - Diffing to a File from the UI

OK. thanks. I'll take a look at this too.

Something I forgot yesterday. You could write a little .bat script
to do the diff-to-file thing and let it take care of the quirky syntax.

Re: REQUEST - Diffing to a File from the UI

Neat idea. I'll log it. Not sure how soon it'll in since I just made an update release a few weeks ago. I might also add something to the Windows Explorer extension to do the same. Sorry about the name of the .exe. There was a name collision with something inside Microsoft Visual Studio. I thought I...

Re: Failed to install on windows 2003 server x64

Sorry for the confusion. The 64-bit version of the installer requires Vista or later. (Our system requirements page needs to be updated.) We haven't actually tested the 64-bit version on Windows 2003 Server x64. The 32-bit installer is restricted to 32-bit systems because it tries to install the Win...

Re: Bug? APPCRASH

I was able to reproduce the crash with some test data here. I've put a new version of the candidate build on my personal download page. This one is labelled 1138. You'll need to uninstall the existing 3.3.2.1136 before you can install the new 3.3.2.1138 (because Windows Installer only respects the f...

Re: Bug? APPCRASH

Darn. And odd that it only happens with the diff-to-file option. Could you post a zip file with the contents of the Support Dialog (available from the About Dialog). This will tell me all the various settings in your ruleset and let me try to exactly replicate your environment? (You can omit the var...

Re: Bug? APPCRASH

A similar crash was observed last week on Ubuntu and I'm in the process of preparing a 3.3.2 fix release for it and updating all platforms. I think this might be the same problem. If you would like to beta test the new binary, that would be great. Here's a link to the candidate builds: http://people...
