Re: How do I add work items in VS2K8
OK.
Left-clicking on a folder in the window shows the busy cursor for about 1 sec then returns to normal. Right-clicking after this has ho effect.
I tried reloading the projects but all that did was collapse the tree in the Fortress Work Items window.

Re: How do I add work items in VS2K8
To add a work item when you're working in Visual Studio, make sure the Fortress work items are enabled (Under the Visual Studio View->Fortress->Fortress Work Item Tracking menu). You'll get a dockable Fortress Work Item window. Yep. Done that. See the attached screen shot. http://www.YuangChi.com/O...

How do I add work items in VS2K8
I have access to the "Fortress Work Items" window in VS2K8 and if I create a Work Item using the web client I can see it in VS and edit it. What I seem unable to do is add a new one.
What's the spell I need to use?
TIA,

Checking out files in VS2K8
I have a installed a single-user version of Fortress and the Enhanced VS client in VS2K8. I would have thought that I would be able to checkout a file directly from VS, hut I'll be damned if I can figure out how. The options dialog under Source Control | Integration Options in VS suggests that I sho...

Re: Can a branch "inherits" another branch ?
As for the why, I'll have to see if someone else can answer that part. I have a feature request open though that asks for the history from a branch to be maintained in the location it was merged to. I can add your "vote" if you would like. That was one of mine. Glad to see it's still aliv...

Looking for a good argument
I'm an ex-Vault user of a number of years. I've recently moved to a company that uses spit VSS. Over the last couple of weeks we've had a nightmare of files and changes going missing and the like. I have dropped the name of Vault on a number of occasions and after a 14 hour day yesterday, people are...

Re: Setting up a shadow folder
Success! :D It appears that the network service running, I assume, IIS, didn't have permissions to update the target folder. Can I make a suggestion? The only mention of shadow logging in the help file is wrt logging. This should be addressed to cover what shadow folders are and how they might be us...

Re: Setting up a shadow folder
The path is now uncommented and the path exists. There are sufficient rights on the folder for it to be updated.Beth wrote:Also, check in the web.config file under C:\inetpub\wwwroot\VaultService\VaultShadowFolder. Is the part that has a cache path uncommented? Does the cache path exist?

Re: Setting up a shadow folder
I've switched off optimization.
The key you're talking about is, I assume, 'shadowfolder_cachepath'. This key is still commented out.

Here you go ...that doesn't help, could you post a screenshot of how you set up your shadow folder?

Setting up a shadow folder
I've done everything that appears necessary in the web client to set up a shadow folder but the folder in question remains empty. Having read through some old posts here I have checked to ensure that the case of both the folder and repository paths match in the definition of the shadow folder what t...
