Re: How to use Vault w/o binding info in .sln and .proj file
daflookie, if your main concern is with branching and whether you'll have to rebind your solution files, then from another Vault user's perspective, let me tell you that this is one of the areas that I am most impressed with how Vault works. We use VS 2010 and the Vault Pro Enhanced Client. As long ...

Re: Feature Request: Checked-Out Files and Disabled Users
Yes, I have used both of those in the meantime; however it would be more convenient if there were at least a warning, if not the additional capabilities on the user maintenance screen. In our situation, I have a dozen repositories, and a user may be working in any of them, so it becomes a bit tediou...

Feature Request: Checked-Out Files and Disabled Users
Please consider adding a feature to the User Maintenance screen such that the action of Disabling a user account would search for and at least display a list of files (paths with repository) that user currently has checked out, and even better, provide me an option to forcefully undo the checkout of...

Client GUI Flicker
When I first open Vault and connect to a repository in the Vault Pro Client, it displays the repository folders, and then goes through a cycle of flickering with the hourglass (or spinning circle on Win7) shown. Finally after numerous cycles, it settles down and is usable. Then, when I click on the ...

Re: Feature request - save comments history
Hi Andy, I don't mean to hijack your thread, but could not find another way to contact you. As a Development Manager for a company (not SourceGear) that uses Vault Pro, I am curious about your request. My gut reaction is that I wouldn't want my team to reuse comments. I want them to write something ...

Re: Newly Installed GUI Client Locks-up
By the way, the new moderator thing is a bit of an annoyance. I have been a user here for a long time, and now it wants all of my posts to be approved. I even followed the advice I had read in another thread to log out and back in to the forums, and that does not appear to have resolved the issue.

Re: Newly Installed GUI Client Locks-up
Yes. I deleted all of my profiles and then connected fine. I then recreaed one profile and it worked okay. Next I created two more profiles (without using them in between creations) and suddenly they stopped working. I then deleted all but the first one again, and it worked. I recreated one more pro...

Newly Installed GUI Client Locks-up
On a new laptop running Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit, I installed the Vault Pro Client 5.1.1.12916 (same version as the server). I setup my profiles that I normally use and then attempt to open one. The GUI starts to work, but never gets past the "Retrieving repository structure information f...

Re: Profiles and Working Folders Disappeared
Hi Linda, Yes, it was a Profile that I had created in the client UI (using Fortress 2.0.x) and that is where the working folders had disappeared. However, I have been working with Red-Gate and they have fixed that issue in a newer pre-release candidate which I am working with now, so this does appea...

Re: Profiles and Working Folders Disappeared
OK, great! I had contacted them as well, but thought I would check with you to see if that even fell within the realm of possibility, or whether I needed to look for other problems. It sounds like it is possible, and that's just the risk I was taking by running pre-release software, which I understa...

Profiles and Working Folders Disappeared
Sometime during the day today, all of my Profiles (for quick connection to a repository) and my Working Folders assignments within repositories disappeared. I have beene exploring Red-Gate's new SQL Source Control tool and its integration with Fortress. This is an Early Access version of their tool....

Feature Request: Item Tracking Links for Deleted Objects
Scenario: An item is added to source control and over time, changes are made to it and checked-in, with linking to Item Tracking items turned on, so the links to the source item and version are automatically created in the check-in comment. Later the item is deleted (but not Obliterated) from sourc...

Re: Feature Request - Show me what I'm undoing!
Saint168, if you just want to undo changes to the Project file, but not other files in the project, have you tried doing this in the Fotress Pending Changes window in Visual Studio, rather than in the Solution Explorer? I have done this several times successfully, myself. Just right-click on the Pro...
