Tonya,
Thanks for that info. Do you know which port the Vault server is using to connect to the AD server? Ports 389 and 636 are typical.

Re: Active Directory Connection
Tonya, Not quite what we were looking for. We are migrating to AD user authentication. We need to know if the Vault server-to-AD server communication is done using SSL or non-SSL. We know about the 'Use SSL' checkbox in the user login, but don't see an option for the AD server connection. Thanks, Jeff

Active Directory Connection
Does Vault connect to Active Directory using SSL or is it plain-text? My security team was asking me and I can’t find anything.

Re: History Columns
Tonya, That is one way to do it. Another is to be able to select the columns that are displayed on the history display much the way the columns can be chosen for the file list display. Yet another would be to display both the username AND the user's full name on the history display. Any of these wou...

History Columns
Is there a way to display a user's full name on history display? We are going to be switching to AD for user credentials soon and the corporate policy for usernames is quite cryptic. Currently, our Vault usernames are formatted in such a way that is it easy to see who made a particular change when v...

Notification Service Issues
Several months ago, we upgraded Vault Standard from version 5.1 to 10.0. Since the upgrade, notifications no longer work. Whenever a user changes a file that is watched there is a server log entry of: “VaultServiceAPI.AuthenticateWithNotificationServer returned 0 URLs.” Looking into it I found that ...

Sorry it took so long to reply. Are there any other errors listed there as well? Nope. Did your users set working folders in Vault as well as VS? No, they used the GUI client to set their working folders. Do you have any sharing or branching going on? Yes. What version of VS are you using and do you...

Auto-refresh error
For some users, we are getting entries in the server log when a background auto-refresh is executed. The server log entry has the following: System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast object of type 'VaultServiceBase.VaultFile' to type 'VaultServiceBase.VaultFolder'. The user has no idea that this ...

I'll have them try the selective cache clearing. Another manifestation of this same XML error produces the following in the client log: System.InvalidOperationException: There is an error in XML document (1, 4420093). ---> System.IO.IOException: Unable to read data from the transport connection: An ...

Are the remote users that are having a problem all in the same location? We have had problems at at least two locations. I don't know if the second location is having the problem at login or when choosing a repository, but I'll find out. Do some remote users still work fine? Yes, the majority of th...
