Re: Restore Vault from full harddrive backup

Thank You! Great thought about restoring to a VM. I hadn't considered that option! As it currently stands, I've got the server restored from Windows Backup as a full restore - which means our Vault server is restored as well... but I'm left with the real possibility that if I reboot this machine, it...

DO NOT FORCE INSTALLER ON TOP!!@#$!@#$!@#$

What the !@#$!@$!@# is wrong with your devs? NO SOFTWARE IN 2018 should be setting the "Top Window" flag - EVER - !!!! I ran into an error installing Vault Standard Server - named pipe inaccessible - so I needed to reconfigure SQL Server to ensure named pipes is enabled and installed - BUT...

Restore Vault from full harddrive backup

Hi - I expect there must be support documents on this already, but not sure where to find them? Our Vault Server PC died yesterday. I've got it up & running again - but have chosen to build it new, piecemeal, instead of doing a full restore from backup image (I can still possibly do that if requ...

Re: WTH?

Hi Beth, I have no idea what happened - I must have had that file on screen when VS crashed the day before? Something like that. I close that file, I opened the correct file, made my changes, and when I went to investigate that folder was gone. So - I like your idea that it was an auto-recovery file...

WTH?

VS 2015 / Vault enhanced client is again doing bizarre and extremely unpleasant things. I just went to edit a file - and ended up editing: C:\Users\steve\Vault\Cimex CAD-CAM\17.0\Cimex Application\enc_temp_folder\1b913dc0189cd788f749d868e942a18\Macro Parse Strings.cpp ???? What the hell is that? Is ...

Re: Installation SNAFU

NVM - your post did it. :D (Thank You!)

Just enabling 4.6 - asked for whether to include other bits - I said yes - and all is well so far!

Re: Installation SNAFU

Untitled.png That's a screen shot of server roles. I see ASP .NET 3.5 or 4.6. Are there others that need to be enabled - and if you know - where should I have found a discussion of which roles must be installed with which options for Vault (so I can record that link my documentation for future main...

Installation SNAFU

I'm migrating VAULT 9.1 standard from an older Win Server 2012 (not R2) to a new Win Server 2016 machine. I was following the advice / procedures given here: https://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=924 All went well until I installed Vault on the new server, as Admin, and it appeared to insta...

Re: Weird Bug

This didn't stop me from checking in - just to be clear - it's just wrong. And when I only try to check in the one file that's in the wrong project - I get an error from Vault saying "nothing checked out" And I get that type of error every once in a while - makes no sense - figured they ma...

Re: Weird Bug

The path is correct - it is in the correct project folder & project in Vault. I checked both of those things before posting this here.
I''ll try resetting the cache now.

Weird Bug

I'm getting this sort of thing appearing from time to time - and it makes no sense: Why would "ControlState.h" appear in the wrong project in the commit list? It's in the correct one everywhere else... (Sometimes I get this then when I say "check in" I get back "no items&quo...

Bug: check out multi-select = multi-multi-checkout

In SG Vault Standard client - select 3 individual files (using ctrl+click to select each one). Then right click and choose "check out" and you'll get triplicate check-outs in the log: [2016-11-18 3:42:33 PM] Checking out file $/Cimex CAD-CAM/17.0/Cimex Application/CimCAD/Macro Parse Value....

Re: SingleFileISense

I'm also working with VisualAssist on this - as I think it may be due to VA opening wrong files - which is somehow causing VS2015 to think "hey - let's [stupidly] add that automatically to your project!!!" Update: Thursday morning - I've disabled single file I-sense. So hopefully this won'...

Re: SingleFileISense

...and more: So, I told it not to do whatever it asked before (unclear what it was asking - since this is all a train wreck in slow-mo)... And then I selected the rogue/bogus temp project file from the pending changes - and attempted to delete it. This gave me the attached dialog screenshot (I inclu...

Re: SingleFileISense

More hints - I previously saw another user posting similar problems as I'm having - and they were instructed to clear their caches and seemed to be resolved. Their issue was very similar - but had this oddity where these "rogue" files were being added to their project from other - wrong pr...
