Re: Lots of "Needs Merge"
if i remember correctly, there wasn't an easy way for me to fix this problem last time without technical support. there were 2 source database IDs in my project somehow so clearing the cache, etc. didn't do the job. i am happy to start using the sql backup/restore but this feature is broken on my co...

Re: Lots of "Needs Merge"
The problem came back. How do I fix it? We previously traced it back to somehow having 2 sourcegear database references (or something like that). It was covered in RE: Vault sync issue {216969}. This problem might have something to do with Folder Import/Export. I've been using this as my backup/rest...

Re: can't uninstall vault client
vault is listed as a source control provider at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0\SourceControlProviders\{1ea47954-8515-402d-82d9-b5c332120a8d}
isn't this a bug in the vault uninstaller?

Re: can't uninstall vault client
ran the visual studio 2008 repair wizard. now the tools.options page looks ok - no invisible source control option - but Vault Enhanced Client is still a choice in the source control menu. can't figure out how to uninstall it completely.

Re: can't uninstall vault client
i think i got the error just opening Visual Studio alone, before I had selected a solution. i just tried installing vault client again. this fixed the tools.options menu - everything looked ok. then i uninstalled and rebooted immediately. after reboot, i started up Visual Studio. no error this time,...

can't uninstall vault client
I tried to uninstall Vault Client using the Add/Remove Programs section of Control Panel. Seemed to work fine. I left the server installed. I then tried to immediately start Visual Studio and got this error: Package Load Failure Package 'SourceGearLLC.VaultVsipClient.VaultVspClient, ... has failed t...

Re: can't use profiles with folder import/export tool
i agree it isn't an important feature for the import/export. but it looked like something was broken because i was used to the profile UI being enabled. i recommended hiding these profile controls in the import/export dialog, or adding a piece of text "can't use profiles here", or adding a...

Re: Lots of "Needs Merge"
I switched the source control over the CVS style as you suggested. I wiped out the local cache and rebuilt the cache. I deleted the local directory and attempted to start clean by doing an Open from Vault. I also made sure to use the same login name and password from within the Vault Client and from...

Re: Lots of "Needs Merge"
The problem has returned. Again I'm just one guy working on the source code. I have been doing simple CheckOut + CheckIn from within Visual Studio 2008. According to Visual Studio every file for one of my projects was checked in and looked fine - all the normal lock icons. Then I started up the Vaul...

Re: Lots of "Needs Merge"
Another observation. If I do a Get Latest from the standalone Vault Client, it does remove the Needs Merge status. But when I look at the checked-in files in Visual Studio, it shows the Renegade flag icon. So I have to do a Get Latest from within Visual Studio afterward to remove the Renegade status...
