Re: Disable user from changing other users info
It sounds like the user is in the Admin group, but he should be a Repository Admin instead. Check the user's rights and groups by clicking on the user name in the list of Users in the Vault Admin Web Client. If the user iss in the Admin group, like "Joe" below, you can change that. Then ma...

Re: Upgrading to Vault Professional
Reminder: Users will need to update their clients to match the Vault Server's major version. For example, if Vault Professional 10.1.0 is installed on the Vault Server, users will need to upgrade to the Vault Professional 9.x client in order to log into server. To update your client, run the Vault c...

Re: Move Vault standard to a new web server
It depends on what integration plugin you're using and what type of project it is. You could try unbinding and rebinding your project. First, open your solution. If you are using the Vault Enhanced Client integration, use the menu item "Change Vault Bindings" in Visual Studio under File->S...

Re: Move Vault standard to a new web server
The reason I asked is because sometimes users on an old Vault version want to upgrade, but their current OS doesn't support the newer versions of Vault. So they have to upgrade part way on one system and the rest of the way on the new system. Since you're on fairly new software, you don't have that ...

Re: time estimate field no longer visible
The Time Estimate is now available as a report in Vault 7.
You can save the report to a file and analyze it as an Excel, Word or PDF file.

Note that we have never tested SOS 4.2 on Windows 2008 R2 64 bit, and it's not officially supported. It might work, however.

Re: Unable to log into Vault - Could not load connect string
Sgvaultuser is the database user that Vault Server uses to connect to SQL Server. The Vault installer uses the Vault Admin password for the sgvaultuser password when you install Vault. The installer encrypts the sgvaultuser password in the Vault Service web.config file then stores the encrypted pass...

Re: Move Vault standard to a new web server
the procedure is to uninstall completely and then re-install to the new server, after appropriate SQL backups for safety. The original Vault data will remain unaffected by the move. This is basically the process. It would help to know what version of Vault you are using and what OS the server is on...

Re: Disabling Login Profiles
The profile is a file created on the client machine. It's stored in the user's cache location, in Vault_1\Client\Profiles.
There no way to prevent a user from creating a profile.
What problem are you trying to solve? Perhaps there's another way to solve it.

Re: The server uses a protocol that is not supported by this
Glad you found the CLC info.
This error generally means the client is not the correct version for the server. Are you using any older Vault .dlls or libraries when executing nAnt?The server uses a protocol that is not supported by this client

Re: Find in Files for all repositories
It should be possible.
I'd suggest turning on one at a time.
Also be aware that the sgvaultindex database will grow to accomodate all the words that are parsed by the Vault index service. So make sure you have adequate disk space for the database.
