Re: Very disappointed with Vault Standard 6.0 feature list

I'm not as concerned about Vault 6 as Rob is, but I do want to reinforce his request for better merge support. We make a branch for each major version that we release to customers, so that we can patch them if necessary. This works fine in most cases, because we can just merge those patches back int...

Re: "Commit selected" removed from context menu

My users have noticed the same thing that Dave reported. In previous versions, if you had a lot of files checked out and wanted to check in five or ten of them, you could just shift-click on the first and last files, and then click Commit. Now, you have to check each file individually before you can...

Re: Is there a length limit on checkin comments?

I think she meant that it doesn't display any warning messages when you hit the limit. It just silently stops accepting new text. This can be a little confusing, but it works.

Re: Is there a length limit on checkin comments?

It is enforced by the dialog - once you hit the limit, it prevents you from typing any more text.

Is there a length limit on checkin comments?

My team did a large merge a few months ago, and when we went back to look at the changeset, the merge comments were truncated. We did not receive any warnings before we committed the merge, and this truncation caused a lot of confusion when one of my devs tried to go back and find the source of one ...

Re: Lots of intermittent server errors after upgrading to 5.0.3

Just to follow up, we were unable to determine the cause of these problems, but they stopped happening after a server reboot. It's been running stable for the past two months. Thanks, Linda and Jeff, for your help.

Re: Lots of intermittent server errors after upgrading to 5.0.3

Ok, I got the Cruise Control information from our tester. We're using Cruise Control.NET version 1.4.4.83. This is the same version that we were using before the Vault upgrade. We are using the SourceGear plugin.

Lots of intermittent server errors after upgrading to 5.0.3

Our Vault server used to run version 3.1.9. Last week, we upgraded to 5.0.3 and moved it to a faster server. Since then, we've been getting a lot of exceptions from the server. I haven't been able to figure out why these are happening, so hopefully you can help us. Here are some of the errors we've ...

Re: Does Vault have a "bisect" feature?

Yeah, integration tests are good for catching bugs, but we're looking for a way to find that cause of a bug if does slip through the integration tests. Please put in a feature request for me.

Thanks!

Does Vault have a "bisect" feature?

I posted this on Stack Overflow recently: "After a bug has been located and fixed, we would like to trace the bug back to the change that originally caused it. That way, our team can look at it and learn how to avoid that type of bug in future changes. Obviously, if automated tests catch the bu...

Is it possible to make DiffMerge remember its window size?

DiffMerge 3.0 is a great tool - much better than the diff tool that used to come with Vault. But, is there a way to make it remember its window size and position? I use two monitors, and I like to span it across them so that the old file is on my left monitor and the new file is on my right. It is a...

I'm working on getting the server log. In the meantime, I have one more piece of info: the problem only happens when Visual Studio is open. If they close Visual Studio, Vault gets the file correctly.

Did you ever figure out what the problem with this was? I've got two PCs that throw this error when we try to get the latest version of a folder. What info can we give you to help troubleshoot it?

Thanks,
Josh
