Vault Client for 2 versions of Vault on same PC?

I am in the process of upgrading from v3.5.3 to v.4.1. We are using VS 2008 SP1 and I need to have developers test against the new version of Vault and the IDE integration while still have the ability to easily switch back to v3.5.3 for normal production development. We are using the Classic Client ...

Re: SQL query for file and folder count?

I guess it would, but this will be cumbersome as we have over 100 repositories. Maybe I can get an intern to do this tedious task.
Was hoping there was some query I could run against the DB to give me the same information.

Thanks, Tom

Re: SQL query for file and folder count?

Just want to get the same numbers as what the 4.1.4 version gives me now on the older version. Need it for analysis of a project to convert all .Net 1.1 apps to the latest, etc. No issues, just need it to do an estimate for the PM's. They want to know how many repositories, files, folders, etc. I ju...

SQL query for file and folder count?

I need to do some research into size of repositories and artifact counts and was wondering if there is a query to do this? I know 4.1.4 has this in the repository view via the Admin page.
I am on version 3.5.3 currently with plans to go to 4.1.4 in the fall. :)

Thanks, Tom

That worked! Thanks a million! Hopefully my real production upgrade will be uneventful, but at least now I am better prepared :)

Re: Unable to upload large files.

I had similar issues too (v3.5.3). Try checking the box under Network settings to "Do not use a proxy". Also I had to up the values in the Vault service web.config for executionTimeout and maxRequestLength to 86400 and 1048576 respectively. Now we are able to upload files up to 400M in size. Don't a...

Here are the 2 logs as requested.

In the meantime, I will try your last suggestion of uninstalling 3.5.3 first (keeping the db) and then installing 4.1.4 and will post my results.

Password error when upgrading from 3.5.3 to 4.x

Here is the scenario: I have a copy of production unloaded to a non-prod instance. And install the current version (3.5.3) with no problems. I used the current Admin credentials. I test everything and we are good to go. I do an iisreset and then start the 4.1.4 (and tried 4.0.6) and things go fine u...

Next release of Vault?

I am deciding on whether or not to plan a Vault upgrade going from 3.5 to 4.1 or the next version which I hear is a 5.x release? What would you recommend doing? Do an incremental or wait until 5.x is released. What is that timetable if you have that information. A feature list in 5.x would be nice t...

Re: Using same build id for multiple build servers

You guessed correctly! Same build user login id. But when you say server, is that the web server hosting the vault web service or SQL Server? I buy the no contention on the web server but what about SQL Server? Is there a possibility of any locking or is it a "dirty" read?

Using same build id for multiple build servers

We have 6 build servers, each running CCNet 1.4.1, and many builds use the same build id for multiple projects and\or repositories. I am questioning this use. Will\can there be contention using the same id when multiple builds are trying to fire at the same time? What would you recommend as best pra...

Re: Dll and pdb files in Bin and Obj folder getting checked

Please dis-regard this post. It was a bit premature. We found the cause and while it appeared to be an issue with Vault, it was not. Let's call it user error. :)

Dll and pdb files in Bin and Obj folder getting checked

We are on version 3.5.3 of Vault and have been using Visual Studio 2008 SP1 with success until this "feature" cropped up. When developers are checking in solution files within the IDE, the contents of the bin and obj files are getting checked in too. I checked the repository options via the Admin to...
