64-bit server creates a 32-bit app pool, what gives?

I just installed the brand new 64-bit version of Vault Server 4.1.2, and I let it create its own app pool (the default). But the app pool it created is set up to run in 32-bit mode. I thought the whole point of this new version was to run in 64-bit mode.

OS is Windows Server 2008.

Questionable installers

The MSIs for the server and the client have a habit of showing a Cancel button (with focus) accompanied by the message "DO NOT CANCEL THIS OPERATION" (or something similar). I'd take away the cancel button entirely.

Diff tool is useless in all but the simplest of scenarios

We use Vault to create a recursive diff list comparing the last labeled inspection to the current code. This works great. We get a list of files that are Different, and ones that are Right Only, Left Only. The lines in the diff list that are Different are great. We can double click on them to see a ...

Will a future client release automatically fix this problem or do we have to run that line no matter what?

I'm the original poster, and I've noticed a few more details now. First, it doesn't just happen when doing Open From Vault. It seems to happen any time there are a large number of files to get. Also, I can predict the problem occurring by looking in the lower level corner where it says Retrieving Fi...

I have suggested it before, and second the hosting suggestion. Even if you partner with someone and make it totally transparent to us. Nobody wants to host their own email server, source control server, or anything really. People are a lot more likely to use the product if they aren't responsible fo...

The types of changes I undo are the ones resulting from the lack of "Exclude from Source control" feature. Periodically, Vault rediscovers files that I have in my project but not in source control, and wants to add them. This includes a folder and a couple C# files. So, the undo operations...

Pending Changes sometimes does not refresh

When "undoing selected operations" in the Vault Pending Changes area in VS, sometimes the items I undid will remain in the list. But, if I then Commit All, those changes don't appear in that list. So, the undo worked, but the list wasn't refreshed to reflect that. More often, though, it DO...

The last few times I've tried, I haven't experienced the problem at all. I will get back to you if I see it again, and see a pattern.

Thanks.

.cs files, project files. The problem is not whether we have them set as mergeable or not. I can check these types of files out fine. And so can he. It's just that periodically I notice that he has them exclusively, and he goes into his Vault settings and notices that the Always Request Exclusive lo...

The server is set to allow non-exclusive checkouts. I have it working fine on my end.

I added our Vault info to my signature so I shouldn't forget it anymore.

Server-side storage of preferences?

We have a developer who keeps losing all of his preferences. Most annoyingly, his client keeps going back to Check out everything Exclusively mode. I don't know what is causing this, and fixing it would be nice, but even better would be to store preferences on the server and even allow those prefere...

I don't know. If I could reproduce it, I would have given the steps. I can say that the one diff I did do showed no differences (so I don't know why it was classified as renegade). Also, prior to the problem happening, I was successfully dragging folders without any problem. After it happened once, ...

Files sometimes go renegade during move

First I'd like to say that moving files in VS2008/4.1/enhanced client is way, way better than it was in 3.x/Classic Client, and it usually works great.

Sometimes, though, every file I drag in Visual Studio immediately becomes renegade. Sometimes not, though. I'm not sure what causes this.

Works great for me

I've actually been really impressed with how Deleted files are put in the pending changes, and I'm unable to undo literally everything without any manual operations. What I do differently than you, though, is I selected all the changes in the Pending Changes window rather than undoing the checkout o...
