Check out with merge, without getting local copy

In VSS/SOS, one can Check Out without getting local copy. How, using VSS style checkout (ReadOnly), would this be accomplished with Vault? It seems to demand that a merge take place, which isn't applicable in this situation (e.g., being on a plane, making the copy writable, making changes, wanting t...

Controlling ReadOnly-Style Checkouts by File or Directory

We have a need to have one particular file be, in the old VSS parlance, "multiple checkouts allowed," while all the rest are ReadOnly style checkouts. In VSS, this could be accomplished in srcsafe.ini by specifying for the directory/project in question that multiple checkouts were allowed;...

Exclude means what?

In VSS, and in SOS, exclude means exclude from the list, so it is not visible, and so what you want to find, which in my case could be one new file of a given suffix, among 500 with another suffix, is easily findable. File Exclusions: designed for *NIX?

Is there a reason that a specification of *.fxp is different than a specification of *.FXP (and presumeably both are different than *.fXp, etc.)? I know that on *NIX systems this might be the case; but presumeably even if Vault ran on Mono, it would be used with Samba. Is there a switch I can set to...

Yes, I found that, and that fixed the slowness. Since I can reach the sg site from that machine, I'm not sure what the problem is; although it's not set up to verify reverse dns, so if you're looking at that on your end, that could be the problem.

Slow connection to server on same machine

I am getting a very slow connection to a server on the same machine, and noticed this in the Messages window. ???
