I don't know... I'm out of the office visiting the local devdays and some other MS tracks, so I won't be able to test it untill two weeks. I'll give myself a reminder and will follow up on this.

That's fine, but I presume VS is only meant to check out the project file if something is really altered in there, not on every build.

I'm using the Visual Studio plugin. A solution would be great because the exclusive checkout on the project file really bumps with concurrent development (now I've still got to shout to my colleagues to release the project :))

Exclusive lock on build

I've got a VS2005 solution with multiple projects. One of these projects is a global library containing some default functionalities we're using in several projects. Now, when I build the project itself (which is dependant on the library project) the library project is checked out exclusively. Why i...

Sorry for kicking it up, but is this a feature in 5.0/Fortress, or can I add my vote for the next release after that? :)

Yeah I did, sorry if I didn't make it clear (no fluent English yet...). Thanks for adding the vote, as I mentioned I might give it a try myself someday.

Check-in/Check-out context menu

A colleague of mine asked if it was possible to check-in/out files without having to open the client GUI. He was thinking of a sort of shortcut to do this in the windows explorer context menu (right click -> checkin/checkout). He adds non-visual studio objects to the vault database on a regular basi...

In my understanding, repositories get slower the more information they've got in them. To maintain a speedy system I thought of moving old projects into an 'archive repository'. That way the projects don't completely disappear from sourcecontrol, but the default repository could stay clean and fast ...

Well, I would say more users could use such a functionality so a feature request would be nice :)

Repository layouts

Hello, for the instantiation of our newly bought source control application I'm trying to create a "this-makes-sence" layout for the repository. I'd like to ask current users who are using sourcecontrol for a longer time than we are how their repository layout looks like. I already read th...

Automatically moving old projects

Within Vault, or maybe Fortress, is it possible to define a ruleset which automatically moves unused projects to a different folder/repository? This would be a very nice feature if it's not yet implemented; to make sure the default repository is kept clean and quick to use. If it's not implemented y...
