Are you running a 64-bit operating system?

Can you be more specific about what changed between when it was working properly and when it began behaving badly?

Hmmm... this is really a Visual Studio option, that we don't control. You could try closing the Pending Checkins pane, but I'm not sure what impact that would have on how you work.

I was afraid of that. How many files are in your Solution?

When the Pending Checkins pane is showing, Visual Studio has to go through and update the status of each file so that it knows how to populate that tab.

The more files there are, the longer it will take.

In Visual Studio, when you first open the solution, is the "Pending Checkins" pane visible?
