Re: Vault Support for VS 2015
VS 2015 is now out; I installed from MSDN yesterday the final build. Do I just need to uninstall / re-install Vault to get it to integrate?

Vault 7 Pro to Vault 8 Standard
I want to update to the latest Vault version which was just released, however I'm not using the item tracking features anymore so would like to go to the standard version. How do I accomplish this? Install Vault 8 Pro, uninstall, then re-install Standard?

This would be nice as it would also simply backup / restore.Beth wrote:Thank you for your feedback. I can put in a feature request to either consolidate the databases, or possibly remove the ones for features users aren't using.

Move Vault pro database
I'm building new servers, going to retire the old one on which I have both SQL server and Vault pro.
I'm building a new database server and would like to move the databases for vault to it while leaving the vault software on the old server for now. Is there some process / tool I could use for this?

Re: what is a shelveset?
A label will do what you want. A shelveset is meant to be temporary such as when a dev wants to share his changes say for code review or just to send changes to the server in case his hard drive overnight. A branch would also do what you want, it creates a separate copy of the code at a point in tim...

Time entry suggestion
The time entry is a but frustrating at times in that it doesn't accept decimals. Its more natural to me to enter 1.75 hours instead of 105 minutes. Alternately, the style Jira uses (90m or 1h 30m, both are accepted and interpreted).

Re: layout issue in ie10?
I could meet with you after hours. But first, let's check your IE configuration. IE requires some additional settings for Vault 7: 1) Turn off compatibility mode 2) Add the Vault Server URL to your trusted sites 3) Use the FQDN of the server in the URL. It looks like compat mode was on, even though...

Vault 7 Time Tracking
On Vault 7.0 Professional when entering time on the web I've noticed a few things. First, the default is that time is logged Non-billable. That doesn't make any sense, at least for me. Second, when I went back to edit an existing entry, its reset back from Billable to Non-billable. This was on Chrom...

Re: Report menu not opening
It doesn't; as I've already state above clearing the cache has no impact. And I'm certain the cache is clear because I can replicate on a clean install of Win8 with IE10 (fully patched).lbauer wrote:On an existing installation, clearing the browser cache might help: Use Ctrl-F5.

Re: Vault 7 client merge - not skipping screens
New users might want to see all the steps, so skipping is an option. The first screen, "Welcome to Merge Branches," has a checkbox for Auto Advance No-Op Steps. Check that and it should skip steps that need no action. That screen also has an older option, Skip this screen unless shift is ...

Error saving item in Vault Pro client
I get an error everytime I try to save an item from within the Vault Pro 7 client application: The given key was not present in the dictionary. It doesn't matter what I try to change, I always get the error and the changes are not saved.

Vault 7 client merge - not skipping screens
I had the chance to use the new merge wizard in the Vault 7 client, and I still have to click through screens just so it can tell me "Nothing here." I thought it was supposed to bypass screens that didn't contain relevant data.
