Re: Tips for a successful VSS Import
what do you do if your VSS is version 6.0d? Downgrade to 6.0c, at least on the machine where VSS Import is running. You had me for a minute there. How in the world I thought, would I downgrade a VSS source database? But then I realized you must mean that it's the 6.0c libraries that the Import tool...

Re: Vault 2.0 Client not backwards compatible
Is the Vault 2.0 client not able to speak with pre-2.0 servers? If so, why not? What happens if someone has one customer using Vault 2.0 and another customer using 1.x? Can the clients be installed side-by-side? I don't see how that would work with SCC integration. Hmmmmmm. Bryan Batchelder http://...

Re: How do you add to source control when not using the IDE
Hi, Following many many suggestions from the list about not using the IDE client (thanks Eric) we have migrated one project team to the GUI version while the others remain using the IDE. I'm trying to establish processes for adding new solutions to vault and I'm not sure how you would do it without...

I noticed that Vault 2.0 includes a new web client? How do I activate this, and how do I access it?

Re: VS.NET 2003 Integration and CVS Mode
Am I right in assuming that the VS.NET 2003 SCC integration is not compatible with CVS-style working? When I attempt to save a file in VS.NET 2003, if it cannot reach the repository, then it won't let me save (because it's attempting to check the file out). Is this a limitation of the SCC integrati...

Re: Continuous Integration and Vault
We are currently using CVS, and Visual Studio.NET builds. Unhappy with some of our CVS limitations, I'm actually hoping to shake loose the budget for Vault, but an inability to have a continuous integration server would be a non-negotiable stopping point. Does anybody have any experience getting a ...

Re: Just To Be Sure...
I recently purchased the Single User edition of Vault 1.X, so do I still qualify for the free upgrade to 2.0? I noticed the licensing structure changed for V2. Do I need to repurchase a new user license? Based on the post above, it sounds like I can upgrade but if I need to add one more person down...

Re: Single-User Licensing Clarification
First off, thanks for providing a free 'implicit' single-user license. At the moment, I'm a one-man shop but will be hiring a programmer in 2 months, and there is something that isn't very clear to me in how the licensing works: If I purchase another single-user license will it 'replace' the implic...

Vault fans: Post your testimonials here
As prospective users evaluate Vault, they often ask us for customer references. In general, we refuse, for reasons of customer privacy. It just doesn't seem appropriate to give one customer's contact info to another. In general, we like the idea of our customers talking to each other about us. We pr...
