Re: Vault Server 4.12 as CVS Server
SQL Server Management Studio 2005 and 2008 works OK with VS integration, Enhanced Client. The only trouble is when you remove (exclude an item from the solution, not delete it) the VS integration deletes the item from Vault Server. The users who integrate SQL Server Management Studio with Vault serv...

Re: Vault Server 4.12 as CVS Server
Hi, Here is Oracle SQL Developer: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/sql/index.html Attached is the image that shows the Versioning Menu of SQL Developer. I assume the developers guys meant they would like to interact SQL Developer with Vault Server 4.12 the same way than Visual Stud...

Sandbox Area for saving "Pending" code
Hi, One of the developers asks me if Vault Server 4.12 offers a kind of 'Sandbox Area' where developers can check in pending / unstabilized code. The idea is a kind of 'Out of Dev Machine backup' in case of troubles happening to the laptop. Having it on a Source Control server which allow versioning...

Vault Server 4.12 as CVS Server
Hi, One of our Dev Team uses Oracle's SQL Developer tool which has CVS and Subversion interfaces built in for versioning. The Team Lead ask if it is possible to expose our Vault Server 4.12 in a way CSV or Subversion client can interface with. Can you please let me know how to implement this? Thanks...

Re: Full Admin but No Access to files in repository
In Folder Security, I don't have access to this repository. If I added RCA rights to myself, then I can use Vault client and see all the files. What I was confused is: - I am global admin - The admin who created the "OurRepository123" had never granted me access to this repository but yet ...

Re: Client 4.12 failed deleted folder and folder gone
This isn't actually a bug. The folder doesn't show up for you (and only you) because it is still pending: you can see it in your pending changes. Deleting your cache effectively removed the pending change. If this happens again, you can simply delete the pending change (or resolve the other user's ...

Re: Best method?-Move Vault 3.5.1 on SQL2k to new SQL2k5 server
When we made the upgrade, we did it Saturday midnight, Vault Server 3.53 was shut down so the sgvault DB was the latest. During the Vault Server update to 4.12, no one could work on Vault so we didn;t have any live data to catch up. Vault Server 4.12 installer makes a conversion 3.5x to 4.1x. When i...

Re: Vault 4.12, check in failed (_htFolderEntries did not conta)
Thanks for the quick answer, an IISReset did solve the issue. We can survive with this work around while waiting for 4.13. Do you have an approx release date?

Vault 4.12, check in failed (_htFolderEntries did not conta)
Hi, This is URGENT. Would appreciate a quick solution as people are waiting for checking code. This occurred a week after we upgraded from v3.53 to 4.12. In MyBusinessProject, we can check out and undo check out. But a check in always get an error: An exception was encountered during the transaction...

Client 4.12 failed deleted folder and folder gone
Hi,
A folder deletion failed (on of the child object was still checked out). Then this folder is no longer visible in Vault client. Fortunately other team members still see it. So I have deleted my Vault local cache and the folder is back again. Can you please test and confirm?

Full Admin but No Access to files in repository
Hi, Using Vault Client & Server 4.12. I am global Vault Admin. The default repository Access is "No Access" and use Folder Security. In the Repository "Our Repo123" The Repository Access list my name as "Full Admin". Using Vault Client 4.12, I see that "Our Rep...

Re: Best method?-Move Vault 3.5.1 on SQL2k to new SQL2k5 server
Hi, We have gone through the same scenario to upgrade Vaut Server 3.53 SQL2K -> 4.12 on SQl Server 2005. Physical Server is Windows 2003 Server standard 32 bits. We made several simulations on a test server before going Production. It worked quite consistently. Here is what we dit: 1- Shutdown Vault...

VS2005 remove file from Project = Delete in Vault?
Hi, Using Vault Client., Server v4.12 Solution Type: *.ssmssln, Projetc Type: *.ssmssqlproj (SQL Server 2005 Script solution/Project). I assume the behavior described below could be the same in Visual Studio 2005. I remove a file from the project. The file is indeed removed but the file is also dele...

Exception plugin thread, Request failed HTTP status 400
Hi, Using Client & Server v4.12. One user has reported as having several "Wait timeout for mutex after 30000 milliseconds". This error occured several times even after a client reboot but is gone after a while. Searching in the forum, I saw some threads discussing about the issue: http...
