Re: Shadow Folders Not Working
I now have this working perfecdtly thanks to the help received above. There wer 2 issues: Issue 1: I had set the share up under the shared folders of Windows 2012 Essentials. This is a "Home Server" arrangement where another server process is handling the shares. It seemed to object to me ...

Re: Shadow Folders Not Working
F: is a local drive. The folders within (several, including this one) are shared on the LAN. I was wondering if the user account which performs the shadowing had the necessary share permissions, however I am not familiar with which user that is. Is it running as a service on the server? What is the ...

Shadow Folders Not Working
Using SourceGear Vault Pro b8.0.1. Single user. Windows Server 2012 Essential. SVP is working well for maintaining version control. However I cannot get shadow folders working. I have a project folder called Sqlite .The vaultshadowfolderservice.txt file reports the following: 15/05/2016 08:29:10 <ge...

Shadow Folder Permissions
I have set up a shadow folder for my vault project. This is on a Windows Server 2012. When I check in a file this does not update the shadoiw folder. I expect this is due to sharing permissions on the shadow folder. I need to add the necessary share to this folder for the vault service. Could you pl...

How To Create A Shadow Copy?
I'm not sure whether 'shadow copy' is the correct term as I don't have Visual SourceSafe to refer to. I recall that VSS had an option where when a file was checked in, it could be configured to automatically copy the latest revision to a shadow (?) location - so that the latest copy of any file was ...

Re: Cannot Deinstall SourceGear Vault
Could you send an email to support at sourcegear.com (attn: Beth) with a link to this forum thread? Then I can take a closer look at what's happening or walk you through a manual uninstall. Actually I have managed to remove Vault now, and have successfully re-installed. I'm not entirely sure how I ...

Re: Cannot Deinstall SourceGear Vault
A screenshot of the dialog which hangs is shown below. It is completely unresponsive to any user action. SourceGear.jpg I used SysInternals Process Explorer to kill CustomActionsExe.exe - that worked and this pesky dialog was removed (no reboot required). But I still have Vault Pro installed on the ...

Re: Cannot Deinstall SourceGear Vault
Version 8. I installed this to give it a try and now I can't get rid of it (which is not a very encouraging sign to persuade me to continue being a user). This software is like a virus for the way it leaves me stranded in the de-install process. It is the 2nd dialog which hangs. It shows me the SQL ...

Re: Cannot Deinstall SourceGear Vault
I should add fot completeness that if there is a window then it isn't available to switch to using Alt-Tab. Clicking on the taskbar icon simply shows an option 'Close Dialog' - which doesn't work.

Re: Cannot Deinstall SourceGear Vault
What might be happening is a window in the background somewhere. Rather than logging into the database, don't provide any database information and click Cancel. Then it will offer to continue the uninstall without touching the database. After that you can delete the databases in SQL Server Manageme...

Cannot Deinstall SourceGear Vault
When I attempt to de-install Vault Server it quickly proceeds to the SQL Server screen where I am supposed to define the database logon. At that point the de-install becomes unresponsive - I can't select anything, I am unable to enter logon details, and can't close the de-install. The only way out o...
