We've had a few reports of this but have never been able to reliably reproduce this in-house.

You should be able to manually type in the correct drive letters.

We've made some changes in how this dialog is generated, and this is most likely fixed in SOS 4.0.

If I understand your question, you're doing a recursive checkout and the folders are created in your working directory but there are no files in them? If so, something is ending the operation before the files can be retrieved. Are you checking out from the GUI Client or from the IDE (VS.NET or Visua...

We've had requests for Vault to support other "flavors" of SQL, but for the forseeable future, we'll only be supporting MS SQL Server and MSDE 2000. If cost is an issue, MSDE is a good alternative for small teams. It's available as a free download from our website at: http://www.sourcegear...

The errors you report indicate Vault did not install properly. I would suggest uninstalling and then reinstalling. You might want to review the Vault Installation Guide to get an understanding of what Vault needs for a successful install: http://www.sourcegear.com/vault/support/installguide/01_Vault...

First of all, if you are using VSS 6.0d, make sure to make the registry change outlined in this KB article to avoid concurrency issues: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=10 Next, what kinds of projects do you have? Web projects? What version of VS.NET are you using? Can you provide more ...

It appears the server's log file setting cannot be located from the Vault server. This may be caused by a number of reasons. Within the Vault server's virtual directory, usually found at <DRIVE>:\inetpub\wwwroot\vaultservice, you will find two files - web.config and vault.config. 1) The web.config f...

Vault (2.0 and earlier) does not support integration with Active Directory. We've had a few requests for this, and it's logged to our feature/bug database for consideration in a future release.

Can you perform this same operation from the SOS GUI client?

Is there any information in the SOS Server log file that might be helpful? It's the log.txt file in the SOS Server directory.

I sent Eric the individual components of the SOS Classic client so that he could bypass the installer. To remove SOS from the registry, do a search on SourceOffSite or Sourcegear and remove those entries. You might also check under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SourceCodeControlProvider to see if ther...

Hi, Andrei,

SOS does not support proxy authentication.

See our KB article:

http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=258

Our new product, Vault, does support proxy authentication.

Configuring SOS to work with a Proxy

SourceOffSite can work from behind a proxy server. However, there is no direct support for firewalls/proxy servers in SourceOffSite. The SOS Server simply listens on a port for incoming connections. We allow traffic on the configured port to pass through the firewall, as you may already allow for ht...

Unable to locate Automation Component

Something is apparently not quite right with the VSS installation on the server machine hosting the SOS Server. The SOS Server uses Microsoft's Automation layer to communicate with the VSS database so a copy of the VSS Client component must be installed on the server machine. Installing the VSS Clie...

Try the suggestions in this KB article, even though you have no proxy: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=78 One of our users had both Vault Server and Vault Client on the same machine and had a problem checking in files.
