I tried to upgrade again this morning, and had exactly the same results. After the upgrade, shadow folders are not working. If I attempt to use the vault 3.0 admin application to look at the shadow folder definitions, I get the messages about vaultlib not found. Note: On this upgrade attempt, the .n...

Vault 2.0.6 upgrade to 3.0 problem w/shadow folders
I waited until Sunday afternoon to attempt our upgrade to Vault 3.0. After getting by my misconception that a Gold License key is not the same as a Vault license key, I upgraded our vault server to 3.0. First a question - Can the 2.0.6 client work with a vault 3.0 server? I thought I read that it co...

Vault works great for remote developers. This was one of the primary reasons that our company switched. The performance for remote users is excellent. One thing you might consider would be the use of VPN. If neccessary, upgrade your router at the main office to something that supports VPN tunnels. G...

All checked in files changed to status Renegade
One of our developers came in this morning to find all checked in files in his Vault GUI marked as Renegade. He typically keeps a local copy of all files managed by Vault on his PC. None of our other developer has reported this problem. Note: He did leave the Vault Client running all weekend. And, w...

Domagoj, As you start playing with the command line interface, you'll find the performance not comparable to the VSS command interface. In fact, you'll find that every vault command takes at least a few seconds to perform. If you've done install scripts using VSS, it will not look good at first. Aft...

dr_bob, I didn't mean to give you an impression that I'm with Sourcegear - I'm not. As an end user, I'd like to get a Find-in-File feature in the product, but have been able to live without it so far. Note: I don't use the XP search facility all that often, but a $25 shareware product called Search ...

Our Vault server is only visible on the Private network. All remote access must be performed through a VPN tunnel. Performance is excellent - actually phenomenal if you're an ex-Sourcesafe user. If someone has breached our firewall and has successfully done a domain login, our intellect property is ...

Two small enhancement requests...
Vault has become a focal point for most development work for our company. Almost all our developers have the client GUI open at all times. I've got two additions to our wish-list for the GUI. 1) On the context menu (mouse-right click), have an "Explore working folder" and open the MS Explo...

I've used the vault cmdline for scripts that we've written, and considered using it for the utility. However, the very first test case had include cards getting the same file names from different folders. Since there are fair number of includes, I was planning on using a batch command to get them al...

Delphi program and GetLastestVersion request.
We would like to add a "Include" function in a utility that is written in Borland Delphi. At first, I started looking at using the Client API to interface with Vault. Marrying the Client API with Delphi started to look like a real project. However, I also noticed the valult HTTP interface ...
