Don't worry about the log file, I have something else that I would like for you to try. Could you please delete your SOS cache file? 1. Exit the SOS or Visual Studio. 2. Locate the SOS Client "Servers" folder, which can be found in: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data \So...

I have attached a new copy of the SosScc.dll file. Could you please download this version and replace any of the SosScc.dll files found on any of your machines? Please make sure that you close any IDE's that are open before applying the new file.

Please let me know the outcome.

Thanks,

Tonya

Hi Andrew, Thanks for the compliment in regards to 3.1.9, I will pass this along. Currently, we don't have the VS 2005 move bug resolved yet. It's scheduled for our next minor release of 3.5. Vault 3.5 will be released at the end of July but we don't have 3.5.1 tentatively scheduled yet. Tonya Nunn ...

I wanted to let you know that we are currently working on this issue. We have a developer that is trying to reproduce the error message and as soon as I have some additional information for you, I will let you know.

Thanks for your patience!

Thanks for the additional information. I have a test scenario for you to try if you don't mind. The next time that any of your clients hang, could you go to a different machine and log into the SOS Server? If you can successfully log in, perform any kind of operation to confirm that the SOS Server i...

Can you change your logging level from 1 to 4 and enable Method logging?

Hi George, Thanks for the details. So SOS appears to be working correctly for you today from a different pc that's also on the same network as the one that you were having problems with? Would you mind to send me your SOS log.txt file that's located on the SOS Server machine? You can e-mail it to me...

Hello,

It is possible that you may be experiencing a known problem in regards to a concurrency crash issue with the VSS API.

See this KB article regarding server hangs and possible fixes:

Thanks for the details and the log file.

Did you attempt to perform the "get latest" command from within the GUI Client instead of the IDE as Linda suggested? If so, what was the outcome?

Thanks,

This seems to be a Visual Studio issue. See these links below:

2. Do get from source control (approx 17:31pm) Are you performing a "get latest" or an open from source control? My vs.net crashed with a debug assert error (sorry I did not record the exact details) Is this the same debug assert error that you copied above? 9. Tried to edit a csproj file...

Sorry, you are correct. It does not work with SOS!

But it could have been very useful!

Sending your SourceOffSite log file (log.txt) would be helpful. It's located on the machine where the SOS server resides.
