Re: Vault Server upgrade question

BTW, is there a real need to upgrade to MS SQL 2005/2008? I just checked what it would cost (11 CAL Licenses), and I think we could easily stay with MS SQL 2000 if that will remain a viable option for sourcegear support. Also, I think we got the original MS SQL 2000 software from sourcegear when we ...

Vault Server upgrade question

I recently downloaded Vault 5.0 and was getting ready to install, but took a look at the system requirments. We're long-time vault users, and our Win2K Server/MS SQL 2000 is now too old. Time to upgrade. Since the vault server is also ancient, I think it would be advisable to build an alternate Vaul...

Re: Quick fix for UNKNOWN status

Beth,

I've corrected my last post to read:

"A Get Latest is a NOT good option for me... "

Thanks,
Don

Re: Quick fix for UNKNOWN status

>>do you mean that using Diff doesn't change the status?<<

Yes

I'm remote from the vault server, and have a very small subset of the members on my local machine. A Get Latest is a NOT good
option for me...

Re: Quick fix for UNKNOWN status

Beth, It looks like sourcegear took away the "quick fix" method of updating the file status - it no longer works in Vault 4.1.4. Could you please escalate the feature request? I believe that having a tool that could be run on the repository to fix each UNKNOWN file status would be very hel...

Menu Icon Size

Is there a way to use "large icons" on the menu bar of the Vault GUI? I've just upgraded to release 4.1.3 on a machine with a 24" monitor running a 1920x1200. The icons are almost too small to use at this resolution (at least for me). If there's not a way to use large icons, could you...

Our company uses FinalBuilder. I don't have any personal experience, but I've heard good things from the person responsible for the builds.

Linda, Can you reproduce this problem? It's happening on every machine I've tried it on. Checkout/checkins do update the status correctly, but a right-click get latest version, or Source >Get latest version from the menu bypass the status update until the mainform is refocused. Also, I don't have to...

The refresh doesn't work. However, I do see the "refreshing folder tree" in the message pane, followed by a "folder tree refreshed.

More Info...

I've tried this on two clients. The Vault client on the Win2K server machine (all service packs installe), and an XP Pro SP3 machine. Also with all service applied.

4.1.2 Vault GUI - Status not updating

I've just finished a 4.0.6 to 4.1.2 upgrade, and followed the instructions in the Knowledge base on removing the 4.0.6 client that was installed on the server. The server is running Win2K. Everything looked good until I did a "get lastest version" on a file from the vault gui. The gui's me...

Linda,

Is the function that kicks off the status check available to the command line interface? It would be nice to automate the process if possible...

I'm not sure if this works in 3.1.9, but if a folder has a LOT of unknown status entries, you can force Vault to re-evaluate the status of all the members in the folder by selecting a single member and then right-clicking and then "show differences..." I've used this several times lately w...

Beth,

No hurry on the patch... I modified our automation tool to translate the hash (#) in the file name to a %23. It worked.

Thanks,

Thanks Beth,

It's the same problem. Every member that we use with our automation tool starts with the hash (#). Looks like I'll be waiting for a patch as well. Any ideas about when you think this might be fixed?
