SOS does not yet support the Visual SourceSafe 2005 automation component. We did some testing in-house and found that the Get Latest operation does not work if VSS 2005 is the version of the client installed on the SOS Server machine. You may be able to work around this by using the ssapi.dll (autom...

Does this problem only occur when using a web project? What is the exact error message that you receive?

Thanks,

Steve, First, I would try to use checksums to resolve the status of unknown files (Tools->Options->Files). Then if it all possible, I would go ahead and wipe out your working folder for the entire project (if you're not going to lose any changes). Then attempt the Get Latest command. If this doesn't...

I have scheduled this issue to be resolved in the Vault 4.0 release which will probably be next spring. Sorry that I don't have a more defined date for you.

Is this the only file that you are having problems with? Can other users successfully check the file out?

Since the file status is being displayed as Unknown for this file, I would suggest deleting the file from your working folder and attempting to perform a get latest again.

I haven't tried checking out the file using VSS to see if it is an issue with the database. Could you please attempt to do this and let me know the outcome? A lot of times the error message that you are receiving is due to a VSS database corrupction issue. However, you noted in the beginning that y...

Thoreon, At the beginning I would like to appologize for my not so perfect English, but this is not my mother tongue There's no need to apologize. :D How are you attempting to load the project into VS.Net? The very first time that you open an application, regardless of it being a web application or ...

Server error 400 is a generic "operation failed" message. Does verbose logging provide any additional information? http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=463 I noticed that this file is a C# file. Was this file added to SourceOffSite using VS.Net? If so, were you using VS 2003 or VS...

Are you able to perform the CheckOut option successfully for other files? It's possible that your network may be timing out your connection which is causing the problem you are having with the SOS command line client. What type of a firewall or proxy are you passing through to get to the server? Ton...

Could you give me the exact command (include any options) that you are using so I can attempt to reduplicate the problem here?

Could you also include a screen shot of the results?

You can e-mail them to me if you'd like at Tonya@SourceGear.com.

Thanks,

That's up to you. You could remove these projects from the solution or just remove the solution from source code control and only have the projects that you prefer be integrated with source code control. If you decide to go this route, you can keep all of your projects uner this solution and everyth...

Andre, I believe the problem you are experiencing is because you have the entire solution under source code control. You can't have the solution under source code control without all of the projects. This isn't necessarily a Vault liability, it's how VS.Net works. We bind the solution with VS "...

Hello, we have bind a VS 2003 solution to vault to use the VS integration of vault. This solution contains some binded projects and some unbinded projects. How did you bind the solution to Vault? Are the files that are in an unbound state checked out? Were these files originally bound to source code...

Thanks for the immense details. I have recreated the same scenario here and have logged these issues as bugs in our database to be resolved in a future Vault release. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I am having a hard time reproducing these issues. Could you please upgrade Vault to the most recent version 3.1.3 and let me know if the problems still exist? If they do, please report any differences that you notice between 3.1.1 and 3.1.3.
